The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the CBS soap may be testing the waters when it comes to a potential pairing. Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) seeks out Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) in Wednesday’s episode to turn on the charm and sweet-talk her way into a vow renewal venue. Devon insists they’re all booked up at first, but Mia namedrops and keeps pushing until she gets what she wants.
Naturally, that reminds Devon of another feisty character who refused to take no for an answer. Devon couldn’t help but draw comparisons between Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and Mia. Mia’s enthusiasm and determination are certainly reminiscent of Hilary. She also tends to work several angles and stir up trouble, which are obviously Hilary-ish qualities.
Right now, Devon is still trying to climb out of the grief pit. Just putting one foot in front of the other is his goal. Devon’s been focusing on his streaming service and the new artists they’re promoting. He’s throwing himself into work and family, so dating may not be on his radar for a while.
Of course, Mia’s busy pursuing Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) while pretending she’s completely committed to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). That could be considered a very Hilary thing to do, too. Y&R fans will recall how Hilary used Jordan Wilde (Darnell Kirkwood) to make Devon jealous. She strung Jordan along as her backup and enjoyed flaunting that romance in front of her ex-husband.
However, Devon was ultimately putty in Hilary’s hands. They often disagreed on her power plays and all those times she stabbed the residents of Genoa City in the back, but he adored her anyway. Devon once admitted that their love defied logic. He suggested that when he stopped trying to change Hilary and accepted her for who she really is, everything fell into place.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that could give Mia some hope for the future. She really needs a man who’s not a Rosales as well as a relationship that doesn’t come with so much baggage. Devon could offer a clean slate. Plus, Mia is a social climber if we’ve ever seen one. She wants to become part of this rich GC scene, so what better way to do that than to marry a billionaire?
Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) may snub her nose at $5,000 handbags, but Mia would accept those and so much more. She appreciates the finer things in life, so she’d love having Devon to dote on her. Now we’re not suggesting that Mia could ever replace Hilary. It’s clear that Hilary was one of a kind. She seems to be a far more beloved character than Mia could ever be.
Nevertheless, Devon has a type and Mia fits it. He needs someone who will keep him on his toes and be the spice to his sweet. Would you be on board with a Devon and Mia pairing down the road? Could Mia make Devon her next target? Is this potential couple a good idea or would Devon just end up getting hurt?
