The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Eric Braeden is speaking out against mean social media users. Braeden often interacts with Y&R watchers on Twitter, and he’s not shy about speaking his mind! That’s why Braeden felt the need to voice his own opinion when a fan shared an awfully rude one.
A viewer piped up in response to another fan’s post about supporting Y&R. Unfortunately, this particular fan chose to tear down Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams). When Bell was accused of having “no acting skills,” Braeden decided to weigh in. It’s clear that he’s quite passionate when it comes to defending his costars.
Braeden said, “LAURALEE IS PROBABLY THE KINDEST AND MOST UNPRETENTIOUS MEMBER OF OUR CAST! Knows her stuff, always prepared, very giving person!” The fan posting the hurtful comment admitted Bell was probably a terrific individual, but there’s still no need to attack Bell’s acting – especially when the original post was all about supporting The Young and the Restless.
Besides, Bell was fantastic in all the recent courtroom scenes with the cover-up crew. She’s very believable as a merciless DA who’ll do whatever it takes to win. Even before that, Bell showed real talent when she balanced Christine’s manipulative side with some softer undertones.
When Christine pumped Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) for information about Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and the others, she was obviously just trying to score more evidence. However, Bell was able to play it up as Christine actually caring about Sharon’s fate – and Mariah bought it, too. That’s why Mariah backed up Phyllis Summers’ (Gina Tognoni) claims about the incriminating video.
Bell really proved herself during all the J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) drama. Although all Christine’s hard work was ultimately undone, it was fun watching her go after convictions. If you loved to hate Christine in the midst of that storyline, Bell was doing her job well!
Of course, fans are always going to have some actors they like and some they don’t. It’s perfectly fine to have an opinion and even call out the characters when their actions deserve it. Nevertheless, Y&R’s cast and crew work hard to put out a great soap for us. It’d be wonderful if everyone could show a little more love and a little less hate!
