The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, August 9 Review - Nate & Elena Stun Abby - Chelsea Plays Nice With Adam For Connor

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Friday, August 9, tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) party will be totally out of control. As the episode begins, Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) catfight will be in full swing, while Kyle and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) nearly throw punches across the way.

Fortunately, Lola will put a stop to the chaos when she gets on the microphone and talks some sense into everyone. That will put an end to the bad behavior, and the festivities will continue. Lola and Kyle will dance and enjoy the rest of their evening, as Summer and Theo leave the scene and things get back to normal.

One interesting part of the evening will be what happens with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Abby, and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will have to leave the party early, so Elena will catch up with Nate. They’ll discuss Nate’s frustration with Abby’s recent behavior, and Elena will suggest that he stop chasing her and see what happens.

Nate won’t want to play games with Abby, but Elena will suggest that perhaps Abby will realize what she wants if Nate isn’t so aggressively pursuing her. Abby will then join them, and Nate will casually announce that he’s going to take Elena home, leaving Abby stunned and speechless.

So, now that Nate has turned the tables on Abby, what will Abby’s next move be? We’ll see if that makes her a bit more willing to get serious with Nate. But perhaps there’s a more interesting question here…are Nate and Elena getting a little too friendly? Sure, they’re just friends at this point, but they seem to be getting closer and they’re relying on each other for advice and support. Could there be a spark there?

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Friday August 9, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will have an important talk with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). As she’s trying to convince him that living in Genoa City would be a good idea, they’ll discuss Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) and Connor will lament that he doesn’t have a dad anymore. Chelsea will then proceed to explain that his dad, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) Is alive.

Connor will be absolutely thrilled, and he’ll have lots of questions about where Adam’s been and what happened to him. He’ll be excited about seeing his dad, and although Chelsea will try to put off visiting Adam, Connor will be adamant that he wants to see his dad NOW. Chelsea will call Adam, who won’t answer her call, and ultimately they’ll just head on over to Adam’s penthouse.

Adam will answer the door, completely unprepared to see Connor, but as soon as he lays eyes on the kid, he’ll be overjoyed. They’ll hug and talk a bit about sports, and it will be clear that father and son are thoroughly enjoying being together. Finally, Chelsea will insist that it’s time to go but Connor will beg his mom to spend the night with his dad. Chelsea will balk, but ultimately she’ll agree, but she’ll say that she’s going to spend the night as well.

So far, things seem to be going well for Chelsea with her decision to bring Connor back and reunite him with his father. Of course, that could all change if Adam decides to misbehave and start a custody drama with Chelsea as he has with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) over Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). But it seems that Chelsea’s decision to allow Adam access to Connor may prevent the drama that Nick has brought on by completely denying Adam access to Christian.
