The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Friday, July 5, tease that Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) will stun Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) with an admission that leads to a fight. He’ll reveal that he went to see Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and agrees Connor Newman’s (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) father should have custody. Calvin will push Chelsea to give them some space to have their own child instead.
Chelsea will flip out and make it crystal clear she she’s not giving up her son. She’ll wonder if Adam threatened Calvin somehow, but he’ll insist that’s not the case. Meanwhile, Adam will head back to his penthouse and spot Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) drinking by herself. He’ll inquire about the party, but she’ll want to discuss the new hotel Dark Horse is opening.
Adam will grab some Champagne and propose a toast to being outcasts. He’ll also irk Phyllis by noting that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) didn’t show up for the bash. Phyllis will point out that Nick’s playing the blame game when it comes to Chelsea. He holds her responsible for Chelsea’s decision to leave town, but she’ll skip going into the details with Adam.
Once Phyllis leaves, Adam will get a text from Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). Kevin will mention that Chelsea’s with an old guy, so Adam will urge Kevin to keep an eye on things. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place, he’ll finally get a chance to see Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) video and weigh in. After Ana Hamilton (Loren Lott) plays it for Devon and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), she’ll await feedback.
Y&R spoilers say Elena will gush over how great it is. Devon will agree that the energy behind it was nice, but he won’t approve of the sound quality. He’ll bicker with Ana, who’ll insist that they were going for something that felt authentic. Devon will contend that Ana could’ve done that without sacrificing quality. He’ll feel like Ana used his distraction against him and point she’s still too green to work alone.
At Nick’s house, Summer will join her dad for Chinese take-out as they discuss Phyllis and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). When talk turns to Chelsea’s return, Nick will open a fortune cookie about an old love coming back into his life.
Summer will get chills from the eerie accuracy. Next, Summer will toast to living the single life, but she’ll end up chasing after Theo when she spots a pic posted online.
At Society, Devon will chat with Elena briefly before Theo walks in for a meeting. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will want Theo to help Ana, but Ana won’t be pleased when she gets updates. She’ll gripe that Theo is a professional party boy who just tweets all day. However, Ana will make her goals clear to Theo and get reassurance that he only wants success for all of them.
By the time Summer appears, Theo and Ana will be sharing a toast. Back with Nick, he’ll be stunned when Chelsea phones in a panic. She’ll admit her husband is dead, so Nick will rush over to her suite. Kevin will let Adam know that EMTs were summoned to the GCAC, so Adam will head over there as well.
Once Adam arrives, he’ll see Nick holding Chelsea as Phyllis joins them. Phyllis will suggest that’s a “tough break” for Adam. Over with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she’ll be on her computer at Newman Enterprises when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) shows up. Victoria will be sorry for not meeting up with Billy sooner, but she’ll have some good news to pass along.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria will turn Billy’s attention to her screen. She’ll note that a Dark Horse building sits empty since Newman scored the tenant instead. Billy will take Victoria to the carnival for a little celebration.
While they’re there, Billy will play the shooting game and have a flashback of removing the gun from the Abbott mansion. He’ll also recall his rage over seeing Adam at Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) grave.
