The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Friday, November 1, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will help Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) prepare for his press conference where he’ll announce his candidacy for city council. She’ll offer him encouragement but will hope that their pasts don’t come back to haunt them. They’ll agree that Chelsea will meet him later before the presser.
Chelsea will head to The Grand Phoenix, where Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) will introduce himself and call her Chelsea Boudreau. He’ll flirt and charm her, which will be very off-putting for Chelsea. Once he has her sufficiently uncomfortable, he’ll tell her that she has something of his, and he’d like it back. He’ll proceed to tell a flustered Chelsea that he and Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) were business associates.
Chelsea will try to play dumb, but Simon won’t buy it. He’ll proceed to explain that he went to the storage unit with an associate, but what they were looking for was gone. He’ll then tell her that he’s done pretending now, and that they’ll pick up the discussion later when they’ll get down to all the dirty details. Chelsea will be a nervous wreck at this point.
Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will appear, and Chelsea will tell him adamantly that she needs her money back – all of it. But Kevin will say that it’s all gone, and that the Feds were investigating the bank he was using, and they seized all the accounts. Chelsea stared to panic and began hyperventilating.
While all of this is going on, Nick will be joined by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) at the press conference. He’ll try to hold off on starting the presser until Chelsea arrives, but time will be of the essence and he’ll have to begin. He’ll make a fantastic speech for the cameras with Nikki proudly looking on, but Chelsea will not show, as she’ll be dealing with the situation with Simon and Kevin. Afterwards, Nick will be upset that Chelsea didn’t show and he’ll think that something must be wrong.
This looks like just the beginning of troubles for Nick and Chelsea where Nick’s career is concerned. Chelsea getting into trouble with Simon isn’t going to look good for Nick when it inevitably comes out, nor is her dive into money laundering. Of course, Kevin didn’t say whether the Feds were going after any of the people whose money was in the seized accounts, but Chelsea could really be in trouble on all sides of this thing.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Friday, November 1, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will be on a phone call and will learn from whoever she’s talking to that “he” is still in the same location. She’ll then meet with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), and they’ll discuss his medical board inquiry. Amanda will strategize as she probes Nate for information and provokes him to see what kind witness he’ll be.
She’ll quickly deduce that they need Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) help to win the case and that they should go talk with him – their strategy will be to sell the idea that he knowingly put his career on the line for a man’s life. They’ll meet with him later at Society and Amanda will have forewarned Nate to let her do the talking.
Amanda will meet Victor, and then the three of them will sit down for a chat. Amanda will explain that she’ll ask him to give a statement on Nate’s behalf when suddenly Nate will jump in and start berating Victor for the scheme and what it’s cost him. Amanda will be horrified, but Victor will want to hear Nate out. Then Victor will apologize for doing damage to Nate’s career and he’ll say that he’ll help in any way that he can.
Once Victor’s gone, Amanda will blast Nate for going off on Victor. Outside, Victor will call someone and ask them to do find out everything they can about Amanda. One wonders whether Victor will have any more luck finding out about Amanda than Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) did.
It seems that all a person would have to do is trace her phone calls to expose her part in the inheritance scam against Devon…if they knew what they were looking for. We’ll see what Victor’s people turn up – perhaps this will uncover some real answers about Amanda.
