The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that fan wars are still going strong when it comes to the CBS soap’s main love triangle. Of course, we’re talking about the one featuring Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Summer Abbott (Hunter King) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Plenty of people out there are still on “Team Kola.” Others appreciate the changes in Summer and have joined “Team Skyle.”
TV Insider recently spoke with Hunter King about the battle for Kyle’s heart. She admitted that when it comes to social media messages, she’s definitely seeing the great divide. “I find it to be 50/50,” King said. “It’s half for Skyle and half for Kola.” She added that some viewers tweet her about simply loving the “messiness.” King’s just glad they can shake things up for fans and deliver some good drama.
The Young and the Restless watchers might be wondering where King herself stands on this love triangle. Does she think Summer and Kyle are the perfect Y&R match? Does she think Kyle should choose Lola instead? King confessed that she’s on the fence about that. “It’s hard to say,” King said. “There are parts of me that believes that Summer is better for Kyle.”
However, King pointed out that there are two ways of looking at it. She suggested that dating someone different from you can lead to growth. On the flip side, dating someone with a similar background can make you have lots in common. It’s easier to get on the same page about certain things – like money in Summer and Kyle’s case. That was always a big issue for Kyle and Lola.
The Christmas handbag fiasco came up in this interview, so King couldn’t resist making a joke. She teased, “Take the gift, Lola! Just accept it!” Summer certainly wouldn’t mind accepting as many purses as Kyle wants to give. He could shower her with presents until the end of time and that’d be just fine with her.
In fact, Summer mistakenly believes a gift for Lola is for her in Friday’s episode, April 19. She finds a heart necklace, which Kyle later gives to Lola. That’s awfully tacky if you ask us. Kyle’s trying to be a good boyfriend while being a terrible husband, so this is a pretty messed up situation.
