The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter) is up to something, which means Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is headed for heartbreak. It’s clear that he’s been Kerry’s target all along.
Let’s consider a few clues and try to figure out where this storyline will end up. For starters, Kerry has always been cagey about her past. She’s kept things vague regarding her love life, but none of that matters anyway.
Once a character shows signs of shadiness, anything they’ve said goes out the window. We have to assume that Kerry has been lying, so we have to consider why.
On Monday’s Y&R episode, January 14, Kerry lets Jack smell a scene she’s formulated just for him. She calls it Jack of Hearts. That points to a threat specific to Jack, but what does she have against him?
Jack only recently met Kerry, so it seems this is actually about someone they have in common. There must be a link between them that Jack doesn’t know about yet.
It’s possible The Young and the Restless will go for some rewrite. Perhaps Jack fired Kerry’s true love and drove him to commit suicide or some other newly cooked up story.
Then again, maybe a string of bad relationships has driven Kerry to make Jack hers and hers alone. She seems awfully concerned about Jack’s many exes. Y&R has certainly done love potion storylines before, so we can’t rule that out.
However, it’s also possible Kerry is working for somebody else who wants revenge. Maybe she’s just carrying out the plot. That could be why she seemed reluctant to even get involved with Jack at times.
If Kerry is indeed working with a secret ally, who could that ally be? Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has got his hands full with his own family’s chaos, so we can probably rule him out.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) already got her revenge through the paternity scam. She even walked away from Jabot with a good chunk of their crucial patents. Besides, Ashley had a tender moment with Jack just before she left.
Ashley appears to be moving on and focusing on her own future these days. Plus, Eileen Davidson probably isn’t interested in returning to the show anytime soon.
Who does that leave? There’s one option that would be surprising and might allow Mal Young, Y&R’s former head writer and executive producer, to tie up some loose ends. His material is still airing, so it’s reasonable to think that might’ve been something he was trying to do.
Kerry was drawn to Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) when they first met. She knew an awful lot about Dina and was impressed by her background. Conversely, Kerry has been shocked by each revelation of Jack’s exes. She doesn’t seem to know all that much about him and his many marriages.
Is Dina one of the missing links? If so, could this plot somehow tie back to Graham Bloodworth’s (Max Shippee) death? Myrna Bloodworth (Marcia Rodd) was surely upset about how all that went down.
We never found out the identity of Graham’s biological father either. His stepdad was Brent Davis, but what if his real dad is stirring up trouble now? Maybe he feels robbed of the chance to reconnect.
In the soap world, there’s no guarantee Graham is really even dead. There are always faked deaths and evil twin scenarios. Graham was taken off life support after Dina fought off his attempt to kill her with something toxic, but did he really bite the dust? With a daytime drama, you just never know!
Regardless, Kerry’s got major secrets and just might have a sneaky partner running the show. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some exciting twists are brewing, so stay tuned.
