The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 12, tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will go over some lounge plans with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). When Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) arrives, he’ll drop a hint about Abby’s recent confrontation. Phyllis will get the scoop on what went down, but Abby will insist Summer Newman (Hunter King) was at fault.
The news will lead Phyllis to offer a warning. She’ll suggest she only wants adult behavior at the Grand Phoenix’s opening. No more catfights! However, troublemaker Theo will contend that scandals can sell. They certainly make for some good publicity when it’s time to debut a new spot in town.
After Theo exits, Abby will make it clear that Summer will get no apologies from her. Phyllis will accuse Abby of being jealous, which Abby will think is ridiculous. They’ll bicker about respect before Phyllis stomps off. At home, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will reach Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) by phone. He’ll confess he’s been worried all night, but Chelsea will promise she’s OK before hanging up.
At Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) penthouse, Chelsea will seem pleased as Adam and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) reconnect. Once Connor dashes off to the kitchen, Adam will insist he needs to step up as a full-time dad now. He’ll want Connor to live with him, but Chelsea will think that’s outrageous. Connor doesn’t even really know Adam anymore, so Chelsea will definitely flip out.
Y&R spoilers say Adam will warn that he doesn’t want to take this to court. Chelsea will smugly suggest that she’ll fight and win. Their confrontation will be interrupted by Connor, who’ll pick up on the tense vibe. Adam will promise that he’ll see Connor again soon, but it’s clear that another battle’s brewing.
Afterward, Adam will bump into Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and make him an offer. He’ll want to sell the Grand Phoenix, but Devon will wonder why Phyllis isn’t the buyer. Adam will think it’s too risky to do business with Phyllis now, but he’d be glad to sell the place to Devon.
At Newman Enterprises, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will look drained as he sits back in his chair. Once Nick appears, they’ll discuss how Phyllis and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) helped him get his real estate assets back. Victor will ask why Nick returned most of them to Newman, but Nick will simply suggest he wasn’t proud of how he got them. They’ll agree that the slate has been wiped clean.
A little later, Nick will talk about attacking Adam in the park. He’ll admit it was because Adam revealed himself as Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) real dad. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will express regret over bringing Adam back to town. He’ll decide it’s time for him to take charge, but he won’t want to fill Nick in on the details.
After Nick leaves, Victor will rant at someone over the phone. He’ll make it clear that his grandson’s future is riding on this. Next, Abby will arrive to check in with Victor. She’ll get updates on Victor’s treatment before Abby notes that things are up in the air with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). She’ll also point out that she’s joined forces with Phyllis, but she’ll think she knows what she’s doing.
The topic will shift to Adam, so Victor will once again express regret. He’ll be sorry he ever brought Adam back from Las Vegas. Back at Nick’s place, Connor will have a meltdown since he wants to live with his dad. He’ll want Chelsea to live with them as well and won’t understand why she’s putting up a fight. Connor will feel like Chelsea was lying to him about Adam’s survival to keep them apart.
Nick will show up as Connor yells at Chelsea and marches out of the room. That’ll leave Nick to hear about Chelsea’s visit to Adam’s penthouse. She’ll point out that she saw a glimpse of the old Adam while they were there. Nick will seem annoyed by that, but Chelsea will just be concerned by what’s next. She won’t feel like she has very many options, so Nick will fear she’s going to run.
Chelsea will ultimately suggest Connor wouldn’t forgive her now that he knows Adam’s alive. She’ll believe Adam would manage to find them anyway. Chelsea will just hope Adam’s love for Connor is stronger than his rage toward everyone else.
At Dark Horse, Adam will arrive as Theo’s heading for the exit. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will ask about Phyllis’ boy toy and mention his reunion with Connor. Talk will turn to getting the money together for the Grand Phoenix. Phyllis will want extra time, but Adam will note that Devon’s considering the deal. He’ll also suggest Phyllis should pack up since Dark Horse is dead.
Phyllis won’t think Adam has anything left at this point, but he’ll have high hopes about the future. Adam will intend to be on top of the world with Connor and Christian.
