The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Monday, December 30, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will head to Society to pick up tamales for Christmas when they notice an abandoned bag of gifts in the restaurant. They’ll be trying to figure out what to do about it when Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) arrives.
Tessa will wonder why Theo’s on his own on Christmas. He’ll insist that he’s in between get-togethers, though, and they’ll try to figure out who the gifts belong to. Pretty soon, Theo will notice a “Newman Enterprises” tag on the bag, and the ladies will decide to take the gifts to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at the ranch. Theo will decline their invitation to tag along, saying he has plans.
Meanwhile, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will return to the penthouse with a kitten that Connor found out in the cold. They’ll do their best to warm the kitten up and keep it alive, but privately Chelsea and Adam will worry that the kitten might not make it. Connor will name the kitten Oliver.
Turns out, Oliver will wake up, much to everyone’s relief. Chelsea will note that the experience really seemed to get Connor to turn a corner, and that he certainly wasn’t acting like the same boy who locked Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) in a garage. She’ll tell Adam that she’s glad she was there today – it was where she needed to be. Later, on the way to the vet to get Oliver checked out, Adam will agree that Connor can keep him.
Over at Crimson Lights, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will be having a great Christmas, and Chloe will note that it’s going to get even better. Soon, a sad Santa will limp into the establishment, all depressed because Christmas is soon coming to a close. Kevin will get an idea and he’ll step out while Chloe chats up Santa.
Kevin will return with a few kids, who will rush in. One of the kids will tell Santa he loves him and give him a big hug, which will cheer up Santa (whose real name is Frank) considerably. Once that’s settled, Chloe will tell Kevin that she’s got one more gift for him. They’ll go to the patio, and she’ll give him a present, which he’ll open to reveal baby booties. He’ll be puzzled but will eventually realize what she’s trying to tell him.
With tears of joy, Chloe will tell Kevin that they’re having a baby, and they’ll embrace and kiss. They’ll then head back into the main room and Kevin will announce to the room, including Santa and the kids, that they’re having a baby.
At the Newman ranch, Victor will be surprised by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who comes inside from her ride carrying a baby in a bassinet. She’ll explain that she found a baby girl in the stables, and the two will fuss over the adorable little girl. Victor will then get an idea – he’ll call Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) for help, since Nikki won’t want to get child protective services involved on Christmas of all days.
Nate will arrive with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and they’ll examine the baby, who will be healthy with no signs of neglect. Victor will then get a call about a woman who was just found on the property. Security will bring the woman in, and she’ll run to her baby, whom she’ll call Joy. The woman, whose name is Sasha, will explain that she has fallen on hard times and couldn’t care for her baby, so she left the baby in the stables.
Sasha will say that she then changed her mind and came back for her baby. Nikki will tell Sasha that nobody was going to judge her, and that they’d help her if they could, as they have a connection to a charity that helps people in need. Sasha will be truly grateful, and Nikki will say that she came to the right house today.
Later, Mariah and Tessa will show up with the bag of presents, and Victor will be horrified since they were supposed to be delivered to the children on the pediatric ward at the hospital. Mariah and Tessa will offer to deliver the gifts to the kids. Tessa will wonder again if they should ask Theo to join them, but Mariah will insist that Theo has plans. Theo will then be shown sitting alone at Society and looking sad.
Finally, Nikki will tell Victor that she just got off the phone with New Hope, and they’ll see about getting Sasha and Joy some housing. Victor and Nikki will then share a private moment, declaring their love for each other and expressing gratitude for having healthy children and grandchildren. Nikki will say that days like today make her grateful for everything that they have, and the two will kiss and wish each other a Merry Christmas.
