The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, July 8, tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will land in a tight spot. Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) will bump into Phyllis in the park, so her jog will have to wait. Phyllis will be interrogated about the trip she supposedly took not too long ago. Paul will have a hunch that wasn’t really about healing and rejuvenating herself.
After Paul pushes for the truth, Phyllis will seem a bit nervous. She’s got some power over Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) through the “Chance” Chancellor secret, but she’s also got a sweet job at Dark Horse. Kidnapper Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) happens to be a weapon in Adam’s arsenal, so getting him in trouble wouldn’t serve Phyllis.
With that in mind, Phyllis may stick to her relaxing retreat story. She’s other things to worry about anyway – like trying to reconnect with Summer Newman (Hunter King). Since Summer pretty much only goes to Phyllis in crisis mode, they need to find more common ground.
However, Phyllis may have to support Summer through at least one more crisis in the week ahead. Since Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will be serving as Ana Hamilton’s (Loren Lott) new mentor, they could get close. Summer spots them toasting on Friday, which could leave her jealous and looking for answers by the time Monday rolls around.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) will continue to lean on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Calvin Boudreau’s (John Burke) grim fate will leave Chelsea wondering what’s next. Thanks to his death in Friday’s episode, all the stability Chelsea found with Calvin will be gone.
Of course, stable Nick is ready and waiting! Chelsea found comfort with Nick after Adam died, so she could find that same comfort with him now. The problem is Adam’s alive and desperately wants a “Chadam” reunion. To Chelsea, Adam represents risk and uncertainty. That’s why it’ll be tough for Adam to seal the deal with Chelsea anytime soon.
Y&R spoilers say Adam will interrupt Nick and Chelsea’s moment of connection. Things will take a pretty electric turn, but Adam will show up to shut that down. He’ll push Chelsea to see that nothing’s stopping them from being together. Adam will view Calvin’s death as their chance at a renewed future. That should rub Chelsea the wrong way and have her running back to Nick before long.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers point to an inquisitive Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Early this week, Jack will realize Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) health may be headed downhill. He’ll grill Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), but Billy may not be willing to divulge much. Victor wants to keep this as private as possible, so Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) wouldn’t like Billy spreading the news.
