The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Monday, October 14, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will start out her day on a tense note. She’ll tell Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) refused to go to school and even tried to lock himself in the bathroom. Chelsea will worry about whether she’s being a good mother to Connor, and Nick will do his best to reassure her that they’ll all get through this rough patch. He’ll also suggest that perhaps Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) can be of help again.
Later, after Chelsea goes to work, Sharon will show up at the house with some building blocks for Connor, and the two will talk with Nick on the other side of the living room. Connor will be happy to see Sharon again – clearly the two will have rapport. Sharon will pretty quickly bring up Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), and Connor will note that his father lied. Sharon will probe a little and Connor will ask if Sharon knew his father. She’ll respond honestly and Connor will openly wonder why his father went away.
Sharon will do her best to reassure him. She’ll say that it’s hard to understand why people do things sometimes, and Connor will reply that if his father really loved him, then he wouldn’t have left. At that point, Chelsea will arrive home and interrupt the session by trying to reassure Connor. Connor will yell that she lies, too, and run out of the room. After Sharon goes, Chelsea will tell Nick that she looked in Connor’s eyes and saw Adam. Just then, they’ll hear glass breaking from Connor’s room and Connor will cry out.
Clearly, Connor needs to talk with a professional child counselor who is objective and has no connection to Adam or anyone in his family. Connor’s been through a lot in a short amount of time with Calvin Boudreau’s (John Burke) death, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) alleged death, and his abandonment by Adam. He’s understandably angry with the adults whom he loves the most and really needs an independent assessment – hopefully, he’ll get one soon.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Monday, October 14, Nick will get some great feedback. First, he’ll be approached at Crimson Lights by a woman who just moved into one of his New Hope buildings. She’ll explain that she and her family are living in one of Nick’s apartment buildings and she’ll be incredibly grateful to Nick. She’ll give him a big hug, and he’ll be truly touched by her gratefulness.
As it will turn out, Councilwoman Tammy Diamond (Gillian White) will be sitting at a nearby table and will witness Nick’s exchange with the woman. Tammy will think that Nick might want to do more with his career, and she’ll note that there’s another councilman who will soon be stepping down. Nick will be intrigued about the idea of politics as a career. Sharon, who will be standing nearby, will quip that Nick’s got her vote. It seems that Nick might just become Councilman Nick Newman soon!
Finally, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will have an emotional day. It will be the anniversary off the day that they said goodbye to their daughter Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono). They’ll have a private talk about the day and what it means to them, and they’ll both be feeling like spending the day honoring Delia.
Later, after Billy takes a small detour when he gets a text from Victor saying that they need to talk about the night Billy tried to kill Adam, he’ll meet up with Chloe, Esther Valentine (Kate Linder), and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) at Delia’s tree in Chancellor Park. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will arrive as well, and they’ll all talk about Delia, fondly remembering her.
Chloe, Billy, and Jack will each say a few formal words, including Jack’s sentiment that a tree is a fitting tribute to Delia. They’ll all join hands and honor the little girl in a tender moment.
