The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, September 16, tease that the Newmans will reel over a devastating loss. At the ranch, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will marvel at how quickly they lost Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). He’ll wonder how it’s possible that they’re dad is actually dead.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will think Adam’s to blame since he’s been so focused on revenge. Adam will defend himself before Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) insists that their family loved one another. After Nikki, Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) exit, Adam will let Nick know he’s in pain, too. He’ll offer to help find Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), but Nick won’t be interested in his brother’s assistance.
Y&R spoilers say Nick will blast Adam for being such a disappointment to Victor. Once Adam notes that he tried to patch things up with their father recently, Nick won’t be impressed. He’ll urge Adam to spare him the crocodile tears and deliver a warning. Nick will contend that the person to blame will pay if an autopsy exposes foul play.
At the Chancellor boathouse, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) won’t remember having an earlier conversation with Victoria. She’ll admit it was like talking to somebody else. The topic of Billy’s murder attempt will come up, but he just won’t believe he tried to kill Adam. They’ll debate it until Billy starts having flashbacks of trying to run Adam down. He’ll also recall Victoria inquiring about the gum habit he’d picked up.
Billy will fly into a panic and fall as he tries to get out of bed. He’ll struggle with more memory flashes, but Victoria will suggest he should just concentrate on her. She’ll want Billy to trust her as she pushes him to confess he tried to run down Adam. Billy will recall the incident on route 7 and begin to cry.
At a spa retreat in Arizona, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will be thrilled to see Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). They’ll decide to skip the activities they have planned and kick off their fresh starts together. Jack will admit he’s had Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) reasons for leaving her family on his mind. He’s realized that his mother’s motives were more complicated than he gave her credit for.
Talk will turn to their failed relationships and how they’ve used them to define their lives. Sharon will suggest things were destined to fail with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). As for Adam, Sharon just won’t think she can let that kind of negative energy in her life. She’ll share some lighthearted moments with Jack as they laugh about their own short-lived marriage and divorce.
Jack will confess that he’s missed Sharon and will feel like their meeting was fate. They’ll share a toast as they reconnect in Monday’s episode. Back in Genoa City, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will be at Adam’s place when he comes home. He’ll brush Phyllis off and admit that Victor is dead, which will leave her stunned. Phyllis will wonder if Adam messing with the meds caused Victor’s sudden demise.
However, Phyllis will quickly backpedal somewhat and note that it may have had nothing to do with Adam. He won’t think he needs Phyllis to feel sorry for him. Adam will talk about how he just wanted to weaken Victor and leave Newman Enterprises vulnerable. He was hoping to take down the company and hated that he’d been exiled.
After Phyllis gets in touch with Summer over the phone, she’ll turn her attention back to Adam. Phyllis will understand what it’s like to be banished, but she’ll choose to take off. She’ll feel like Adam wants to be alone right now. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will offer his gratitude before Phyllis departs. He’ll have a hard time understanding a world without Victor in it.
At the ranch again, Nick will embrace Summer and admit he’s gotten in touch with Noah Newman (Robert Adamson). He’ll plan to tell Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) soon, too. Since Victoria is still MIA, Summer will fear the news will hit her before they can bring her up to speed.
Afterward, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will let Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and her family know he did everything he could. Nikki will invite Nate to eat with them, so he’ll go along with the idea. Once the others are headed to the kitchen, Nick and Nikki will look at each other somberly. He’ll wrap his arm around his mom as they join the rest of the Newman clan.
Of course, the great Victor Newman isn’t really dead! There’s some interesting Young and the Restless trickery going on, but it’ll take time for the details to come out.
