The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is excited about some huge career news. Noemi Gonzalez plays the manipulative Mia Rosales on Y&R, but she recently posted about another project on Instagram. She put up a picture of herself in front of an HBO sign and made a major announcement about a pilot she’s involved in.
“Super excited! HBO’s pilot Halfway is going to @tribeca !! So much love to my fellow artists who made it possible,” Gonzalez said. Of course, Gonzalez is referring to the Tribeca Film Festival. They’ve got plenty of intriguing films to show off, but they also plan to highlight some excellent work on the small screen by debuting it on the big screen.
According to the Tribeca Film Festival website, this AT&T presented event “will debut highly-anticipated new and returning TV series and spotlight creative online storytelling work at its 18th annual edition.” Halfway is one of five indie pilots taking part in the festival. Kimberley Browning serves as the executive producer of Halfway, which will have its world premiere at Tribeca’s screening showcase.
In addition to Gonzalez, this pilot stars Anastasia Leddick, Joy Nash, Shondrella Avery, Dot-Marie Jones and Garrick Bernard. If you’re wondering about the plot, it’s an interesting one. Halfway follows the story of a woman named Krystal, who was just released from prison. Krystal heads to a Christian halfway house where she faces new rules and “an intimidating crew of fellow ex-con women residents.”
This Tribeca inclusion is certainly thrilling news for Gonzalez and everyone else who took part in this project. Gonzalez also has a few other projects in the works. She scored a role in a short film called Penance along with two other movies, Charlotte the Return and The Tax Collector. Those last two are currently in post-production.
Since Gonzalez is staying busy outside of The Young and the Restless and Mia’s downfall is looming, does that mean her departure is imminent? No one would be surprised since all Mia’s done lately is lie, scheme, cheat, bribe, blackmail…you name it! Redemption is pretty much impossible for her, so Mia may be on her way out.
