The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the Newmans’ sneaky plan will bring backlash. Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) death was faked and almost every adult family member is in the loop – except for Summer Newman (Hunter King). It makes sense to keep Summer out of this since Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is linked to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but it’s still cruel.
Summer is deeply distraught over her grandpa’s demise. She knows not everyone in town was a big fan of Victor, but she had a special bond with him. That bond may be a bit fractured thanks to Victor’s latest scheme. In fact, this could put Summer at odds with the whole family. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is used to being the one left out, but it’s Summer’s turn to be the outsider.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say the truth has to come out eventually. When it does, you can bet Summer will be furious. She’ll unleash her wrath on her family, especially Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Her own father has stood by and watch her suffer. Summer may think Nick’s just as sick and twisted as Adam for doing something like that. It’d be nice to see her call out these hypocrites.
Summer might bring up the kids in the family, too. It’s cold to let them believe Grandpa Victor is gone for good. Poor Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) was clearly devastated over the news. There was surely another tactic they could’ve used to trap Adam.
Of course, Summer may argue that if the plan had to move forward, the least they could do was fill her in. She’ll probably consider this blatant lack of trust quite disturbing. Summer barely likes Phyllis on any given day. She shuts her mother out a good chunk of the time, so it’s not like she would’ve run right to her and blabbed.
That’s especially true if Nick had relayed suspicions about Phyllis’ med-tampering involvement. Phyllis hacked Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) tablet, so she definitely played a role in this. Nick could’ve revealed any hunches he might have and easily got Summer on his side. Instead, the entire family deceived her and that should leave Summer feeling all alone.
Since Summer will have to deal with what Phyllis’ did as well, she’s in for a rough time. Summer can handle the sorrow in private – perhaps with the help of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) – but we should see plenty of public showdowns before that. Y&R fans won’t want to miss Summer’s infuriated reaction.
