The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, August 1, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will dish out some tough love. Once she hears about Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) split from Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), Mariah will see the problem. She’ll feel like Sharon needs to start saying no to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and let him handle things on his own.
While Mariah warns Sharon, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will go over some plans with a designer at Society. He’ll feel like the sketches are exactly what he had in mind. Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will chat with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). When Lola reveals that Mariah already ordered Champagne on ice, Tessa will be baffled about what they’re celebrating.
At Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) place, he’ll impress Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) with a nice meal. They’ll share some kisses, but the mood will be derailed when Nate suggests a Grand Canyon trip together. Abby won’t think it’s a good idea to bail on Society and she isn’t looking for a big commitment. She’ll suggest she wants to keep having fun before she decides to call it a night.
Meanwhile, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will be thrilled over a book Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) bought her. She’ll be surprised that he remembered the author she liked and had it autographed. Next, Y&R spoilers say Nick will meet with Devon about New Hope. It’s an affordable housing project Nick had in mind before he got busy at Dark Horse.
Devon will approve of partnering up with Nick. He’ll be pleased to know Nick wants to include Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) name in some way. After Nick heads out, Nate will arrive and express disappointment over his botched date night with Abby. Devon will give Nate a little pep talk before Elena comes in and gets emotional. She’ll feel like she failed the victim of a horrible construction accident, but Nate’s words of wisdom will help.
Back at Society, Mariah will reveal that Tessa’s music video has officially racked up one million likes. They’ll toast before Tessa lets Mariah know how thankful she is. Once Lola waltzes over, she’ll get updates on Rey’s breakup with Sharon. She’ll take off and leave Tessa to discuss what’s next with Mariah. Since Tessa will need some inspiration, Mariah will point out some other artists are interested in collaborating.
At the cottage, Lola will show up and worry that Rey was the reason for his latest split. Sharon will take the blame instead and push Lola to just go enjoy wedding prep. This should be a magical time for a bride. Over with Nick, he’ll talk to Christian Newman on the phone to express his love and hope everything gets worked out soon.
After Lola returns to Society, she’ll greet Abby and get her a bit riled about her date earlier. The Young and the Restless spoilers say they’ll mull over how complicated relationships can be. Afterward, Abby will text Nate to suggest that they had a great night and should leave it at that for now. However, it’s doubtful Nate will give up just yet, so Abby should probably expect to be pursued again.
In in the park, Sharon will run into Nick and face backlash for standing up for Adam in court. Nick will intimidate Sharon and insist it’s time for her to choose a side: Adam’s or everyone else’s.
