The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, June 13, tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will gather his family for an announcement. He’ll turn down Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) help since he’d rather handle this on his own. Victor will tell his children that he’s battling a rare blood disease that’s quite serious. He’ll admit it could be fatal and that the treatments will take a toll.
A concerned Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will wonder if there’s anything they can do for Victor. He’ll admit it’d be nice if they could start getting along. Thanks to Victor’s revelation, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will realize why their dad was so determined to reconnect with Adam.
As for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she’ll pipe up with an offer to run Newman Enterprises. Abby will think Victoria’s exploiting the situation. Once Victor sends everyone but Adam out, Abby will goad Victoria about their dad choosing Adam over her.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will indeed push Adam to carry on his legacy. He’ll insist Adam is the only one qualified, but Adam will turn him down. Despite the fact that Adam’s most like Victor, he won’t want to live out his father’s dream. Adam will urge Victor to give Victoria a shot instead.
After Adam exits the office, he’ll bicker with Victoria and Nick. Victoria will guess Adam must’ve jumped at his chance to take over. As she stomps off, Adam will suggest Victoria should stick around and see if she’s chosen.
Back with Nick, he’ll let Victor know that he definitely won’t be working with Adam. Nick will feel like Victor must be afraid due to his condition, but Vic will dismiss the idea of fear. Y&R spoilers say Nick will offer his father a warning. He won’t think it’s wise to keep focusing on Adam as the golden child. Nick will think it’s best to accept he destruction Adam’s caused and keep the fallout to a minimum.
Next, Nick will tell Adam about something he learned in a text from Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). He’ll point out that he knows about Adam’s meeting with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). Afterward, Nikki will console Victor alone.
She’ll eventually spot Victor staring at his own portrait deep in thought. Meanwhile, Nick will look at a picture of himself with his father. Adam will also seem troubled as he drinks at the tack house.
At the memory care facility, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will pay Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) another visit. She’ll reveal more about her new novel, which will excite Dina. However, Dina will be upset over Flynn (Daniel Goddard) wasting his time chasing Iris (Christel Khalil). She’ll think Flynn should focus on Velma’s (Beth Maitland) love instead, which Traci will view as a happy ending.
At the coffeehouse, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will present Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) with a housewarming gift: a dead plant she forgot to water. Kyle will get a good laugh out of it and admit he’s now engaged.
After Mariah congratulates Kyle, she’ll confess that she’s also got something to celebrate. Mariah will talk about her new job running Power Communications, which she’s both nervous and passionate about. Back with Traci, she’ll bump into Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and find out he’s considering moving to Lakewood – which would mean moving closer to Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil).
At Society, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will be grateful her big bro went easy on Kyle. She’ll pick up on Rey’s strange vibe and assume this involves his relationship with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Rey will promise nothing’s wrong while Victoria seeks out Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) for comfort. She’ll break down in tears over Victor as Billy embraces her.
In the park, Kyle and Mariah will meet up with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). They’ll discuss Tessa being Mariah’s first client at Power Communications as well as Kyle and Lola’s engagement. When Mariah mentions possibly getting a bigger place with Tessa, Kyle will imply that maybe they’ll get engaged, too. An awkward moment will ensue until Lola appears to show off her new bling.
Lola will note that Abby is going to be her maid of honor and pitch in with the wedding plans. Soon after, Abby will arrive looking glum thanks to her earlier family meeting. Nevertheless, she’ll press on and vow to help Lola achieve the fairytale wedding she’s hoping for.
