The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Thursday, October 3, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will continue to face problems with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). As Y&R viewers know, Chelsea has been seriously upset with Nick over the fact that he didn’t tell her about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) not really being dead. And she’s particularly upset that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) was hurt by the whole scheme.
Nick will want to take Connor to see Victor and help ease his pain, but Chelsea will not have it. She’ll have another tense interaction with Connor before he goes off to school. Connor will angrily tell his mom that he wishes he never saw Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) again in the first place and that they had never come back to Genoa City. That will serve to heighten Chelsea’s irritation with Nick.
In fact, she’ll be so peeved with Nick that she’ll make a move behind his back and deliberately conceal it from him. She’ll happen upon Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at The Grand Phoenix, and once she’s alone with Kevin she’ll let him in on a little secret. She’ll tell him that she inherited millions from Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), including a couple suitcases of money that can’t be used until it gets a good wash.
She’ll then proceed to tell Kevin that he’s the only person he trusts to handle the job. Kevin will balk at first, since he just got his job back at the police station, but Chelsea will persist, and she’ll ultimately agree to give him 10% if he launders the money for her. He’ll agree to do it, but he’ll note that it will have to be done very slowly, so as not to attract attention. Chelsea will be thrilled.
Meanwhile, Nick will get the idea from Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to show Chelsea how much she means to him, as a way of smoothing things over. Nick will arrange a romantic setup for Chelsea at the house complete with roses. He’ll tell her that he hated how they left things and that he doesn’t expect to be forgiven anytime soon, but that he loves her and is hoping that she’ll give him another chance.
He’ll offer Chelsea a massage and she’ll momentarily get caught up in the romance of it all. Smiling, she’ll let Nick give her the massage, but when he tries to kiss her neck, she’ll stiffen up and snap back to being mad Chelsea. She’ll tell Nick that she’s not ready for that, and that she shouldn’t have gotten caught up in the moment. “It’s not going to be that easy, Nick,” she’ll say.
One wonders whether Nick and Chelsea’s relationship is going to be able to withstand the Newman deception over Victor’s death. It seems that if it were just Chelsea who was deceived, then she could probably get over it. But because the whole deal ended up really impacting Connor in a negative way, things are looking pretty bleak for the couple. Given that Adam is Connor’s dad, Nick and Chelsea may always experience this sort of tension, which doesn’t bode well.
