The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that 2020 will undoubtedly bring some romantic shockers and shakeups. There’ll hopefully be some new love stories and perhaps some splits that are long overdue. Of course, there’s one character in particular that many viewers are hoping will find love. Will Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) finally fall for her perfect match in the coming year?
Traci is a fan favorite who received more airtime than usual in 2019, so that was certainly exciting. Plenty of fans were intrigued by the idea of a Traci and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) pairing. The film noir storyline surrounding Traci’s novel was fun, even if you weren’t necessarily feeling the chemistry. It was just nice to see Traci’s heart glowing a bit.
However, Cane and Traci’s pairing was ultimately nixed. After Cane admitted he’d like to move forward romantically, Traci insisted she just wanted to be friends. Even so, Traci did thank Cane for all the wonderful things he said to her. He made Traci realize she was worthy of getting those compliments and having someone care about her in that way.
It seemed like a great setup for a real love story – one with somebody Traci could actually have a future with. Sadly, that hasn’t panned out just yet. Traci ended up writing a book about the Abbott family history with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but now that project’s wrapped up. What’s Traci’s next storyline going to be?
We’re all for Traci being a successful author, but they can’t keep doing the book thing over and over. Traci needs something fresh and different. A love story would definitely fit the bill. Y&R seemingly dangled the possibility of a Traci and Adrian Rosales pairing, but that didn’t go anywhere either. Perhaps it was just a chem test that didn’t result in the sparks the show was hoping for.
Maybe that’s a good thing since Adrian is an opportunist who’s all about money. He might’ve broken Traci’s heart – and The Young and the Restless fans can agree she deserves better! There’s surely some lucky guy who would love to treat Traci like the queen she is.
