The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 27, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will get ready for the custody hearing. He’ll have Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) on hand as his lawyer and Summer Newman (Hunter King) as his character witness. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) decided to drop his fight for Christian Newman (Alex Wilson), but Nick still has some work to do. He’ll be eager to plead his case and get his son back home for good.
Over with Adam, he’ll gaze at a pic of Christian before running into Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) at the coffeehouse. Chelsea will urge Adam to head to the custody hearing, but he’ll think he’s done enough. At the courthouse, Judge Sanders (Joseph C. Phillips) will insist on having all parties present. A call from Chelsea will reveal that Adam isn’t coming, so the judge will want to reschedule.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Brittany, Nick and Summer will all get bent out of shape. Summer will be especially loudmouthed about it, so Judge Sanders will threaten to hold her in contempt of court. After Nick encourages Summer to leave, he’ll rant about what a nightmare this has been. Nick won’t think it’s fair to keep him apart from Christian even longer over a technicality.
Judge Sanders will warn Brittany about Nick’s attitude, so Nick will try a different approach. He’ll soften and deliver an emotional plea for Christian’s sake. Back at Crimson Lights, Chelsea will sense that Adam truly wants to be in Christian’s life. She’ll determine it’d be too difficult for Adam to be in court and that’s why he’s staying away. Adam will suggest Christian was simply a means to an end, but that’s clearly not the case.
At the park later, Chelsea will let Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) have a visit with Adam. After he promises to keep the dark parts of his life away from his son, Chelsea will reassure Adam about the good in him. She’ll still believe it’s there. Chelsea will also return a handkerchief belonging to Adam’s mother, Hope Wilson (Beth Toussaint), so he can give it to Connor for his wife one day.
After Adam embraces Chelsea, Connor will walk over as a gum-chewing Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) spies. As for Nick, he’ll be thrilled to tell Christian he’s coming home permanently. At Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Abbott’s (Sasha Calle) apartment, he’ll carry her over the threshold as they return from their honeymoon. Lola will be taken aback by the apartment makeover Kyle arranged while they were gone.
Once Lola gushes over the changes and her new hubby, she’ll reveal that she’s got a surprise of her own. At Society, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will once again make a pitch to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). He’ll think his ideas could make them a ton of money, so Mariah will hear him out. Theo will convince Mariah to meet with a couple influencers from Chicago, which will send him off to get them.
Back at the park, Kyle will catch Theo on the phone with Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow). Once Theo hangs up, Kyle will warn him to back off Zoe and stop this game. Afterward, Kyle will grumble to Summer about Theo’s jerk behavior. She’ll confess that she knows what happened with Zoe in New York, but she’ll promise her lips are sealed.
Kyle will insist he’s not telling Lola either; she freaked out enough over his much milder version of events. Summer will worry that Kyle’s going to make things worse by staying quiet. At Society again, Theo and Mariah will have a productive meeting with the influencers. Once they’re alone, Y&R spoilers say they’ll down some shots to celebrate.
Summer and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will arrive in time to take in the scene. They’ll look confused and a hint jealous, so they’ll have some questions. When Tessa mentions Mariah’s new BFF, Mariah will be glad that’s what it looked like. Mariah will insist she’s got Theo exactly where she wants him.
Nearby, Theo will tell Summer he’s got Mariah exactly where he wants her, so more mind games are brewing. Back at Kyle and Lola’s place, her surprise will involve a baseball marathon setup complete with stadium munchies. Kyle will mention his unfortunate run-in with Theo, but he’ll leave out the details.
Since the air conditioner’s broken, Kyle will cool Lola down with some ice cubes and ultimately carry her away for lovemaking. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle and Lola had better enjoy peaceful newlywed status while it lasts! We’ll give you updates as other Y&R news comes in.
