The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 17, teases that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will confide in Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). While Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) at the stables, Adam will admit it’s meant to be a fun distraction. He’ll reveal the principal doesn’t want Connor back to Walnut Grove after the break, so Nikki will be appalled.
Adam will talk about how hard they’ve worked with Connor and admit this is a tough blow. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) won’t be around, but Nikki will feel certain he’ll want to listen and support Adam. At the coffeehouse, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will interrupt Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) chat with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). She’ll want to discuss Connor, so Sharon will sit down with her and hear about the principal’s stance.
Chelsea will feel like this is unfair to Connor and will question if they could fight the decision legally. Sharon will point Chelsea in Amanda’s direction, but Amanda will think Chelsea needs to explore other options. She’ll encourage Chelsea to check out other schools or perhaps homeschool Connor.
Over with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), she’ll talk to her mom and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) about holiday plans. It’ll lead Rey and Sharon to the realization that they want to enjoy Christmas together. At Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will pester each other at the bar. After Chelsea is brought up, Nick will point out that Abby fired Phyllis and question what she’s doing at her enemy’s restaurant.
Phyllis will promise she’s not there to cause trouble. Nick will still feel like Abby must’ve had a good reason for cutting Phyllis loose. He’ll push her to go after something else, but Phyllis will want a throne rather than a job. Nick will think Phyllis can rise above her tendency to use dirty tricks. She’ll appreciate Nick’s support and will offer some kind words in return.
Adam will show up in time to witness a close moment between Phyllis and his brother. He’ll step back out of the restaurant and send Phyllis a text to meet him at the penthouse. Once Phyllis arrives, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will make his pitch. He’ll feel confident his plan would work out for everyone.
Adam will hope to eliminate the competition for Chelsea, so he’ll urge Phyllis to go after what she wants. Phyllis will be furious over Adam asking her to seduce Nick. She’ll fly into a rage despite Adam’s insistence that she can make things right. Phyllis will think Adam’s shown a lack of respect and will warn that he just made a mistake he’ll regret.
Next, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will enjoy a flirty date with “Chance” Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Chance still won’t be sure what’s ahead in his career, but he’ll happily live in the here and now with Abby. Soon after, Y&R spoilers say they’ll cap their night off with a kiss.
Back at the ranch, Nikki will discuss Connor and Chelsea with Nick. She’ll get the feeling that Adam wants to turn back the clock. Nick will confess that he expressed his concerns to Chelsea and told her he’s not sure how much longer he can do this. Once Chelsea shows up, she’ll nix the idea of hanging out with Nick, but she’ll allow a visit with her son.
After Chelsea heads back to Adam’s place with Connor, she’ll admit she reached out to Sharon and Amanda. They’ll consider the idea that withdrawing Connor might be the right call. Adam will assure Chelsea that they’re going to figure out what’s best together.
Over with Phyllis again, she’ll stop by Society looking for Nick. Phyllis will admit to the hostess that she could blow things up, but she’ll opt to take the high road for the time being. When Nick returns for the credit card he left behind, he’ll spot Phyllis leaving.
