The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Mia’s (Noemi Gonzalez) impulse vow renewal ceremony, which nearly turned into a second wedding, doesn’t take Arturo (Jason Canela) off her target list. Yes, even though she pledged her ongoing love to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) in front of a priest, Mia still sees Arturo as a potential rebound mate.
Jealousy exists within the selfish minds of various people for different reasons. Most often, in Genoa City, self-centered thoughts are followed by me-first actions. Such is the case with Mia not wanting to allow Arturo to love another woman, Abby (Melissa Ordway).
Mia’s insecurity issues regarding Rey’s feelings for Sharon (Sharon Case) are stepped in what happened in Miami more than a year ago, which was before the Rosales family was written into this fictionally famous Midwestern city. As Y&R fans learned, Mia and Arturo were each other’s first love’s when they were young. Six years ago, Rey and Mia were then married.
Mia’s eventual cheat with Arturo naturally devastated Rey. He agreed to take the police commission’s assignment in GC in order to try and solve the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) case. On a personal level, the reason he left Miami, Florida, was to get away from his wife, who’d broken his heart.
Gonzalez’ addition to the cast, as is true of the other Rosales’ family members, has nicely injected a compelling character into Y&R’s world. Mrs. Rosales is quixotic, but truly vulnerable. Some days, viewers can’t help but root for her, while on other’s Mia’s antics can’t be supported at all.
As for Arturo, he does love Abby. But his own impulse act at the Genoa City Athletic Club was so transparent, as only Mia would know.
Rey was okay with his brother’s grand gesture because of the heart-to-heart they had before the Ria vow renewal event. Arturo’s agreement to be his best man and their open talk about what is perceived as the past seemed to reestablish a strong family bond. Instead, it’s actually shaky, but that’s not fully due to Mia.
It is fully accurate to say that both Arturo and Mia are responsible for their own fragile relationships. And yes, both bonds aren’t stable because of whatever existing feelings these one-time and maybe future-time loves have for each other.
Arturo is Mia’s fallback man and maybe she’s his fallback woman, depending on how Abby responds over time. Of course, Rey and Sharon’s momentarily paused connection will likely play into these interwoven storylines as well.
