The international community came together to celebrate the best of the best. First up was Marcelito Pomoy. He went on the Philippines’ Got Talent as a means of finding his family and surprisingly it worked. He found his family. They were even there when he won. Marcelito went from a nobody and he became a star. He was now married with a daughter. He’s also back defending his title as a phenomenal singer. He took everyone back when he sang a duet by himself and sounded both feminine and masculine at the same time. And really the fact he did an actual duet by himself was one of a kind talent.
The judges loved Marcelito. The crowd was even chanting Howie’s name because they wanted the judge to give him the Golden Buzzer tonight and sadly he didn’t cave to peer pressure. Howie said he wanted to hold onto the buzzer for a little while longer. Next up was Oz Pearlman. He was a Mentalist and he hadn’t won his season. He came in third back then. He was back now to finally win first place and so hats off to him. He pulled off some very neat tricks. He amazed the audience with his sense of deduction and Heidi called him Wizard of Oz because she truly believed he was magical. And so there’s at least one person who hasn’t seen the film.
Up next was Boogie Storm. The dance group came in third on their season of Britain’s Got Talent and yet they remain one of Simon’s favorites. He had given the Golden Buzzer last time. He had wanted Howie to give it to the group this time and Howie wasn’t budging. Howie still wanted to hold onto it. He had just told Simon “no” when Simon stole the Golden Buzzer from him and then pressed it himself. Simon totally stole that from Howie. It should have been Howie’s moment and instead, it was Simon’s because Simon has never loved an act as much as he loves Boogie Storm. He even changed the rules of the game for them.
Ben Blaque went next. He was a crossbow performer and he was on both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent. He didn’t win either of them. The last time his stunt had malfunctioned and so Ben wanted a redo. He came back with the Crossbow Roulette. He asked Alesha again to pull the levers and at first, it didn’t work because he hadn’t turned the safety off. So he had to fix that. Then he went back to the board and dared Alesha to pull a lever that might just be killed. Meanwhile, she was scared out of her mind. She had been flinching the whole time and the judges couldn’t take it anymore. They all pressed their reject buzzer because they didn’t want to see the act through to the end.
It was a rough way to go. Ben’s chances at the championship were sort of over after that and no one really wanted to go on after him. But the show decides these things. They ultimately picked Collabro and so the nontraditional boy band went next. They actually consider themselves a Musical Theater Group. The guys also sounded wonderful. Their voices were in sync and you can tell they’ve done it a million times before. There was just no pizzazz to go with it. They won a while back and it showed. Nowadays the fans and even the judges needed more. They needed a performance and this wasn’t that.
Next up Ryan Niemiller. The comedian was incredibly funny and one of the reasons he was funny was because he wasn’t afraid to make fun of himself. He was handicapped. He was born that way and he never let it get in the way of him being a comedian. He instead turned into a positive. He was funny before and he was funny again tonight. Howie said he would have given him the Golden Buzzer. This means if Simon hadn’t stolen it from him, Ryan would have gone straight to the finale.
Puddles went next. He was known as the sad clown that sings and he hadn’t won his season either. Back then, Simon said he couldn’t get into the right mind-frame for his act. It seemed to say more about Simon than it did Puddles and so Puddles was hoping for a different result this time. He brought back the sad music. He also had more of a performance feel this time because he had a background video playing and he even had a band. Puddles upped his game and that was in part thanks to his residency in Las Vegas. His time there had sharpened his act. He was much better now and so the only one that didn’t get it was Alesha.
She thought the act was a pity party. She didn’t think it was good enough for Champions and surprisingly Simon did. Simon had loved it. He thought Puddles was great and so this was a mixed bag for Puddles. Up next was Marc Spelmann otherwise known as X. He was a Magician and Mentalist. He was known as X because after he lost his season of Britain’s Got Talent he came back as the X persona and made it into the finales. He was also both creepy and talented as X. And his act tonight was so good that Howie had changed his mind and said this would have been his Golden Buzzer.
Luke Islam was up. He was a singer from the fourteenth season of America’s Got Talent and he lost out to Voices of Service, but since then, Luke has a song on a Broadway stage. He also got to sing with one of his biggest idols. Luke has come a long way. He was also proud to be back because he wanted to show his changing style and so tonight he sang some Celine Dion. He had been happy with it and the audience had been happy. Only the judges hadn’t cared for it. They tried to be nice to Luke as they told him he made the wrong choice and so everyone doing their best to handle it until Simon spoke.
Simon was blunt when he said he hadn’t liked it. He didn’t care that the audience booed for it because Simon was always going to say whatever he thinks and he told Luke to do better in the future. Next up was Spencer Horsman. He was an escape artist and, while he didn’t win his season, he had been part of a show for escape artists afterward. The show came to an abrupt when he blacked out underwater. He had needed to be rescued and his doctor suggested he never try that act again. And so, of course, he was going to do it again for Champions but this time he hoped he wouldn’t almost die.
The audience hoped for the same. They watched as Spencer went into a box of water wearing chains he had to escape from and if he didn’t escape the box he was in was going to drop from a great height. Everyone was on the edge of their seats as they watched Spencer hold on despite everything. Spencer managed to escape and he survived the fall. He said he couldn’t wait to see what else he was capable of and the judges were of the same opinion. And so the rest was up to the superfans.
Boogie Storm won the Golden Buzzer even if it was controversial. Marcelito Pomoy was the next act to go through followed by Marc Spelmann and then Ryan Niemiller and that was it for the night.
THE END!
