Camilla Parker-Bowles is involved in different charity organizations. One that hasn’t been discussed as often as it should is Floral Angels. The Duchess of Cornwall is a patron of the charity, in which the philosophy revolves around the power of giving flowers. Find out more about this organization and the unique idea to recycle flowers in order to help others.
What is Floral Angels? – The charity organization is run completely by volunteers. Since 2016, Camilla has been a patron of Floral Angels. According to the official website, the charity receives floral donations from retailers, weddings and other events. Then, they are recycled and turned into beautiful arrangements which are given to those in need. “What can seem a small gesture – a smile, a few words, a small bouquet – can absolutely make a difference.”
Power of Giving Flowers – The charity believes that flowers have healing properties which can help improve the rate of recovery for patients. There is also the belief that floral arrangements can greatly improve one’s well-being. When the volunteers donate the bouquets, they offer kindness, support, and encouragement to those that need it the most in the community.
Camilla Parker-Bowles Charity Work – Floral Angels isn’t the only charity work that Camilla is passionate about. In fact, the official website for the Prince of Wales states that the Duchess of Cornwall is patron or president of over 90 charities. Some of these include Community First, Animal Care Trust, Children’s Hospital South West, Medical Detection Dogs and many more.
Royal Wedding Florist Donates Too – Not only do they receive donations from the community and business owners, so do those affiliated with the Royal Family. In fact, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding florist has donated to the cause. Each year, thousands of bouquets are delivered and those who receive them appreciate it.
Floral Appreciation – Floral Angels posted this on its Facebook page talking about how the flowers really do make a difference, “Following an accident at home, he arrived at the care home straight from the hospital by ambulance. He was down and upset. When he got to his room there were some flowers for him. He said it made him cry as he was so touched.”
