Ben reassures her, saying he will see her at 6 pm as Maggie remembers his bowling finals are tonight, he is going to skip them to be there for her results. She insists that he goes, crying that she will be there as soon as she has her results. The nurses are all talking about Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains), when he approaches and asks April Sexton (Yaya Da Costa), Maggie asking if they have anything better to do than gossip about whom he is dating. Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) rushes over, saying they have a meeting with the doctor to see if any of the eggs fertilized and he wants to go out to celebrate after; she agrees, smiling.
Marcel bumps into Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) as she is walking towards Chicago Med, quizzing him as to why he is late. A man approaches them, covered in blood telling them his wife is in labor and bleeding really bad. He says they were in an accident but when they come around the corner a man has a gun pointing at them and both are forced into a van; Natalie is terrified as Marcel tells them to take it easy.
They work on a second man who is wounded in the back, while the first man drives. Natalie insists that if they don’t get him to a hospital he will die, but they decide to go to a gas station to buy some supplies. Meanwhile, Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) walks into the inpatient detox center, wanting to see Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram). He is told that they don’t recommend visitors for the first 48 hours, but Will says she is expecting him and he is told to make it brief. He witnesses how she is suffering; finding out she is going cold turkey as she is a doctor.
EMS brings in a patient, Jasmine who has been in several times for liver disease. She comes in with her friend Lauren and her boys. April assures them they will take care of her mom as Ethan tends to Jasmine, telling her that her boys have been taken up to the daycare. Ethan and April learn they have found a living donor from her biological mother and April are given permission to contact her. Maggie calls for Baghdad, wondering if anyone has seen Dr. Marcel as she has paged him twice.
Will speaks to Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) about Hannah, saying the concern is the opioids will cause impairment on the job. He feels it is a stigma but Daniel reminds him that he did the right thing turning her in. Maggie interrupts them, saying they have a college kid who passed out on campus, Krista Butler who was a former patient of Dr. Charles, who had schizophrenia presented when she was about 15. Will asks about her dizziness, headache. He thinks she is dehydrated and she admits to drinking last night as Daniel reminds her that she can’t mix her medications and alcohol. She admits she stopped taking the drugs months ago and hasn’t felt better in a long time. Will wants to administer some tests as Dr. Charles asks when she last checked in with her mom, Joanne Butler (Dena Tyler) and she agrees for him to call her.
The blue van that has abducted Natalie and Marcel pulls into the gas station, Jimmy orders Natalie to cuff up Marcel, saying Natalie is going in with him to get the supplies. She keeps looking around anxiously, dropping her hospital badge on the floor as they leave. Marcel desperately tries to grab the gun the man drops in the back when he passes out from the pain. Natalie moves him and he wakes up, proving hie is alive but he needs surgery done on his calf immediately.
Ethan comes into Annette Hill’s (Juliette Jeffers) room, who asks how her daughter, Jasmine was doing. He says the transplant team is checking on everything to make sure everything will go smoothly. He admits he has heard her story, saying it is pretty amazing, but notices she had an episode of hypothermia caused by the anesthetic.
Joanne is angry with Krista as Daniel asks her to come out of the room, not wanting to overstep, encouraging her to loosen the reigns a bit. She is adamant about her daughter not drinking when she is barely 18. A nurse calls them back in the room when Krista begins to seize, Daniel orders several tests.
Ethan realizes that Annette probably isn’t Jasmine’s biological mother and talks it over with April. April pleads with him not to reveal anything and allow them to go forward with the procedure as this would be her last chance of survival.
Will and Dr. Charles review Krista’s chart and she didn’t have a seizure, everything is coming up normal; tox is clean. Dr. Charles wants more labs done. Maggie is growing concerned as now Dr. Manning is missing from pediatrics too and decides to do a track on her cell, saying she has been outside the hospital for the past hour. She calls her phone and they fond it sitting in the trash, right next to Crockett’s phone, they are careful as there could be prints.
The blue van stops and they uncuff Marcel, who tells Jimmy to be careful with the trigger. Natalie said the alcohol on the wound is going to hurt and begins to pour. Jimmy orders them to be quick. Type a message here
Dt. Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) arrives at Chicago Med and meets with Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) as they review the footage, but there is a blind spot where the van was parked. Jay says there were two clear prints of an escaped convict named Jim Clemons (Ryan Czerwonko) and a DNA match to Tyler Clemons. He assures her they have everyone looking for them but it has to remain on the down-low. Sharon wants to run Tyler and Jim through their system to see if anything comes up.
Joanne learns that Krista didn’t have a seizure and they learn from her that she has been giving Krista her prescriptions without her knowledge. She is upset, pleading with them, saying she is only trying to protect her. Dr Charles says it is best for her to tell Krista but if she cannot, it is his duty to inform Krista as she is an adult and his patient.
Jimmy orders Marcel to work fast on his brother, but he says he can’t. Natalie turns on the torch lighter and burns his wounds, saying the bleeding has stopped. Tyler points his gun at Natalie calling her a “crazy bitch” as Marcel pleads for the brothers to let them go.

April is shocked to learn that Lauren used to work at DCFS as they keep adoption records. She excuses herself to make a call.
Maggie rushes over to Sharon, revealing a gas station attendant called, saying he found Natalie’s badge and he laid eyes on her and she looked okay. They go to inform Chicago PD.
Ethan tells Jasmine that Annette didn’t have any side effects from the anesthesia as April comes in confronting Jasmine and Lauren about catfishing Annette into donating her organ. April reveals she knows who Jasmine’s parents really are. Ethan is really angry and Lauren orders her not to answer. Jasmine promises she didn’t set out to hurt her, but when she found out her parents were dead she didn’t have any other option and she couldn’t leave her boys. Ethan informs her what she did was illegal and Annette could press charges. She promises she will never abandon Annette, as they truly feel she is family; April and Ethan both walk out on them.
Jimmy and Tyler bring Natalie and Marcel to a house, as Tyler says they are his insurance policy. Natalie pleads that she has a son. They walk into the house and Tyler hugs his mother. He tells her that she needs to go and tells Natalie and Marcel to go into the living room, where there is another man lying in a hospital bed, extremely ill. Marcel suggesting they could help him. Tyler says they cannot, ordering them to put two chairs back to back and forces them to sit down, drawing out handcuffs.
Sharon finds Jay and shows him Bobby Clemons’ medical records, treated for stage 4 brain cancer, and his grandmother signed him out of the hospital as he is terminal. Jay finds out the address, getting everyone ready for a brief.
Ethan and April come to see Annette, revealing that Jasmine is not actually her daughter but she admits that she already knew. Her daughter Zora died 12 years prior in a shelter. She admits she didn’t say anything as she was just a baby when she had her daughter and she made some bad choices and that is how she lost her so when Jasmine called she knew it was God giving her another chance to do some good and make it up to Zora somehow so she played along. April says Jasmine conned her and it wasn’t a clerical error but Annette doesn’t care because for the first time in her life she has a family and she doesn’t want to lose her nor the boys. Ethan says their obligation was to inform her and how she deals with it is up to her. She thanks them and says she wants them to ask her family to come to see her. Ethan and April realize that sometimes living in the truth is more painful.
Joanne screams for help trying to control her daughter Krista who slaps her across the face. She feels there are bugs crawling under her skin. Dr. Charles orders for an IV as Will says she is a danger to herself and it has to be done. Joanne is furious they told Krista the truth. Dr. Daniel says they have to do this, as Joanne feels Daniel ruined her life as she could be placed under a psych hold now and no longer attend college.
Tyler apologizes to his son, holding his forehead as police sirens are heard outside. Jay Halstead announces that the house is surrounded, asking Tyler to come out the front door, knowing he is with the two doctors, asking him to release the doctors first. He allows Natalie to go, but she protests. Marcel tells her it is okay as Tyler tells her to close the door behind her with the gun drawn. Marcel apologizes for his son. Tyler tells Crockett to go but he rushes to Tyler who points the gun to his temple. They struggle with the gun and it goes off. Natalie screams for Crockett as CPD rushes into the house.
Maggie runs over to Natalie and April and Maggie hugs her as they all worry about him. Crockett is brought out and Natalie runs to him, saying she was so scared. He assures her he is all right, Tyler is brought out in a chair as Crockett tells them he needs s blood, Jay says he owes them his life; observing the closeness between the two.
Dr. Charles sits with Joanne, saying he understands what she did. She wishes she could shake her daughter and make her see she is throwing her life away. He is hoping she can try to let Krista figure out things on her own, let her face the consequences of her own actions then she will stay compliant. It is her only real shot of facing her own illness.
Will comes to see Hannah, saying he brought her something. He doesn’t think she should suffer like this, but she throws the drugs away, saying first he snitches on her and then jeopardizes her recovery. She screams at him to get out. A nurse rushes in, making sure Hannah is okay as Will leaves.
Ben comes to find Maggie, saying he is his own man and she doesn’t make decisions for him. She is sorry worried it is bad news and he says he will be with her every step of the way. She pushes him away, saying he is in remission and he shouldn’t be there stuck in the hospital with him. He says she is his life as Dr. Singh comes in bearing very good news. The radiologist says there is no sign of a mass and no tumor markers, meaning Maggie is officially in remission. She falls into Ben’s arms.
April and Ethan find out none of the eggs fertilized and they can start another cycle in 6 weeks. April says she will do it as Ethan said they would talk about it, but he smiles when she is so sure. Maggie is happy about anything Ben wants to do. He wants to know one wish she has. She tells him, honestly, the only thing she would wish is to spend the rest of her life with him. He says he would marry her tomorrow and she tells him she is not playing; the two kiss.
