Dancing With the Stars Spoilers: Shaquille O’Neal Won’t Do DWTS Because He’s Not First

Dancing With the Stars spoilers reveal that Shaquille O’Neal has opened up about whether he would be the next NBA pro on the show. If he would have been asked in season one, then he would have done it. But since he’s not first, then the answer is no and explained that it’s because he likes to “innovate.”

DWTS Spoilers: The Answer Is No

With more than a few professional athletes appearing on the long-running dancing competition series, there has been speculation on who could be next. One suggestion that has been brought up by fans is Shaq.

However, the NBA icon told Us Weekly that he would never go on the television show. However, it’s not because he can’t dance (he can!) and he has nothing against the series. In fact, he’s supportive of his fellow NBA stars that have signed up.

Shaquille O’Neal Has To Be First

DWTS spoilers reveal that the answer is because O’Neal likes to be innovative. He likes to jump on board when things are just getting started. Because the dancing competition isn’t new… it’s been on the air for many years… he won’t do it. The pro ball player explained,

“I can’t do it, yeah; I wouldn’t do it now. I like being the innovator. If it was season one, I would do it. But I can’t do it in season two or beyond.”

So, O’Neal basically likes to be first and prefers to be the trendsetter. There’s nothing wrong with that. How does he feel about other basketball pros showing off their fancy footwork?

Dancing With the Stars: NBA Stars Can Dance, Too

In the past, we have seen Lamar Odom and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar show us their moves on the dance floor. In the current season of the show, we watched Charles Oakley. O’Neal had nothing but good things to say about Oakley’s moves. He said that Oakley looked “really good.” However, he wasn’t just impressed with his feet.

Impressed With Charles Oakley

The Dancing With the Stars contestant is 56 years old and was paired with professional dancer Emma Slater, who is 31. However, the pair was eliminated during the second week. Even so, O’Neal commented that he was impressed with how Oakley has stayed fit and in shape. He said,

“He was always a guy that stayed in shape and it was really good and his outfit and his hips are still working really good.”
