Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday May 15, reveal that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) talked in their apartment. Nicole noted that Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton’s birthday must have been difficult for Eric, and Eric said that he was lucky to have Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander) in his life. Soon, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) dropped by and told Nicole and Eric the story about tracking down Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and the baby in Paris.
However, Eric immediately got upset upon learning that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) had taken off with Rachel Black. Eric blasted Brady for allowing Kristen to disappear with a baby who needed continued checkups due to her recent cancer battle.
Eric raged, calling Kristen a homicidal maniac who should be behind bars, and he accused Brady of not considering his feelings. Brady ultimately left upset.
Meanwhile, at the police station, Zoey Burge (Alyshia Ochse) told Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) that Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) confessed something that Orpheus (George DelHoyo) doesn’t want anyone to know.
Zoey and Rafe went into the interrogation room, and Zoey said that last year, Evan and Orpheus wanted to run off with David Ridgeway (Caleb and Kyler Ends), but they needed money.
Zoey explained that Orpheus and Evan conspired to kidnap Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and hold her for ransom. It was Mother’s Day of last year, and Zoey said that Orpheus and Evan kidnapped Maggie as she was about to down a glass of vodka. Orpheus chloroformed Maggie, and they hauled Maggie away in a car.
Zoey said that Orpheus drove, with Evan and an unconscious Maggie in the back seat. They were driving to the Hernandez house to get David, but Orpheus took his eyes off the road and swerved into oncoming traffic.
Zoey said that after the crash, Orpheus and Evan put Maggie in the driver’s seat and made it look like she caused the crash – all at Orpheus’ direction. Rafe realized that Maggie was innocent and didn’t kill anyone.
At the prison, Sarah visited with Maggie. Both Sarah and Maggie were uncomfortable, and Sarah said that she never should have run away with the baby. Sarah said that Mickey was dead, and Maggie said that it was all her fault. “I killed my grandchild,” Maggie said. “Yes, you did,” Sarah replied.
Sarah and Maggie rehashed the baby switch, and finally Sarah said that she was in no position to cast stones at Maggie – after all, she kidnapped a baby and held Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) captive. Sarah said that Maggie did something awful, but that she knew that Maggie didn’t mean to do it. Maggie said that she was responsible.
Sarah then offered Maggie forgiveness, saying that she wasn’t offering it out of selflessness, but rather because she really needed her mom right now. Sarah said that she wanted Maggie to know that she’s always felt lucky having her as a mom and that she could never hate Maggie. Maggie said that Sarah was indeed selfless, and that she’d never be able to forgive herself.
Sarah told Maggie that she was proud of her, and that she was resilient and strong. Sarah and Maggie spoke about Sarah’s father a bit, and then Sarah mentioned that she had seen Brady in Paris so he must be out on bail.
Maggie then told Sarah that Brady didn’t stab Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), but Kristen did. Sarah was horrified that she gave Kristen the baby.
Visiting time was up, and Sarah said she didn’t know where she was going to go, but she surmised that she’d probably be arrested for kidnapping, so she might end up in prison with Maggie. Sarah left, and Maggie said that she loved Sarah. Then, once Sarah was gone, Maggie said, “I love you so much, but you won’t ever see me again.”
At University Hospital, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) entered Victor’s room looking a mess with his hair all tussled. Victor realized that Xander was hoping that he and Sarah would run away with the baby, and he comforted his nephew.
Victor said that there was one silver lining, and that was that Kristen would be in prison and away from Brady and the baby. Victor hoped that Brady would forgive him for the baby switch in time.
Similarly, Xander hoped that Sarah would forgive him in time, and then Xander realized that Sarah could be facing kidnapping charges. Xander raced out of the room, leaving Victor alone. Victor then opened a letter from Maggie, which read, “Dear Victor, I’m writing to you to say goodbye.” Victor was horrified.
Over in Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) office, Orpheus said that the life of someone Marlena loved hung in the balance. Marlena assumed that Orpheus was talking about Brady and she pointed out that Brady had been freed.
Orpheus said that this wasn’t about Brady, and he rambled on about wanting his grandson in his life. Orpheus then said that he was low on funds at the moment.
Orpheus told Marlena that he did have a different hostage in mind, but that plan went awry. “So we move onto plan B,” Orpheus said, “Which is where you come in.”
Marlena assumed that Orpheus was going to kidnap her and make John Black (Drake Hogestyn) pay ransom. But Orpheus said that he was holding John hostage. “If you want him back, you’ll have to do as I say,” Orpheus said.
