Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that things are looking up for Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) right now. Gabi’s suspicions about Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) were seemingly proven correct thanks to those DNA results, but were the results legit? Here are three ways Jake’s DNA results could be wrong.
1) Jake may be Stefan’s identical twin
If Jake is Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) identical twin, that would certainly explain why the DNA results were a match. Identical twins would have the same DNA, so Jake may be right about all his memories. Jake’s struggling since he’s only got a couple years of “real” memories, but Gabi insisted the others could’ve been implanted.
The problem is there’s no motive to make Stefan believe he’s this gruff mechanic from “Philly.” What purpose does that serve? Why brainwash Stefan into believing he’s just some random guy? If Jake is Stefan’s twin, then he lived a completely different life and would recall it – just as Jake does.
You’d think Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) would know if she gave birth to twins, but that’s not necessarily true. When The Young and the Restless decided to invent dead Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) twin, her mother had no idea she’d given birth to two babies.
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was too drugged up and out of it to remember, so there are ways of explaining Vivian’s obliviousness.
2) The DNA results tampered with
Gabi insisted she didn’t tamper with the results, but that doesn’t mean they’re the real deal. Another DOOL character could’ve easily doctored the outcome – and that person could have complicated motives. Days of Our Lives spoilers say this could potentially serve as a new mystery surrounding Jake.
Someone like Ivan Marais (Ivan G’Vera) would want to help Vivian by giving her “Stefan” back. Someone who hates Gabi might want her to suffer – either by setting up a downfall or just forcing her into this situation where Stefan doesn’t love her back.
There’s a long list of people who fall into the “I hate Gabi” category, so it’s worth considering that someone might be messing with her. It’s even possible someone’s doing this to mess with Jake. It all depends on how Days writers want this story to turn out in the end.
3) A lab mistake
This option may not be as likely as the other two, but labs do make mistakes occasionally. That’s particularly true in the soap world, where plot points are needed. Those results took a long time to come back, so who knows what they were doing back in that lab?
If someone was goofing off and didn’t give this test the attention it deserved, the results could be wrong for that reason.
However, we’d say identical twin or tampered results are the most likely options – at least if these results are going to be proven wrong. There’s still a chance Jake is actually Stefan, but there’s just as much of a chance that this Days story will get messy!
