Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that A Martinez is set to reprise his role as Eduardo Hernandez this summer. CDL previously reported on Eduardo’s upcoming return – and now Jason47 has confirmed that Martinez is indeed making a comeback as Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Gabi Hernandez’s (Camila Banus) father.
There’s no word on an exact airdate yet, but it should be sometime in August. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Rafe’s exit was originally set to air in September, but it looks like it’s been bumped up to August based on some missed preemptions.
There’s a good chance Eduardo will tie in with Rafe’s departure as well as Gabi’s, which should be coming up around the same time.
When Days fans last saw Eduardo in 2017, he was arrested over stolen treasury bonds. Eduardo was sent to prison, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he’s free or locked up upon his return. It’s possible Rafe and Gabi will have a reason to visit Eduardo behind bars, but it seems more likely Eduardo will show up in town following his release.
Of course, Eduardo has a complicated relationship with all his children. He abandoned his family due to his dangerous life as an assassin, so it’s easy to see why there’s been tension over the years. However, Eduardo managed to make some progress with his kids during his last stint. Perhaps we’ll see even more progress once Eduardo’s back in the picture.
Gabi recently mentioned her mother, Adrianna Hernandez (Alma Delfina), for the first time in a while, so it’s possible she’ll tie in with all this, too. Regardless, it seems significant that Eduardo’s coming on the scene right as Rafe and Gabi are set to exit.
Eduardo may be part of the story that takes Gabi and Rafe off canvas, but there’ll be more DOOL details down the road.
