Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that a tough blow’s ahead for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). DOOL fans know Rafe was stunned when Zoey Burge (Alyshia Ochse) announced that she still plans to pursue custody of David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends) – and she intends to win! Rafe’s concerned about losing the little boy he considers his son, but there’s a good chance Zoey’s right about winning custody.
After all, it seems like the only thing that’d really be a tough blow for Rafe right now is losing David. If Zoey wins custody and moves away with her nephew, what’ll be next for Rafe? Days will surely want to give Rafe something else to do. Rafe will be making his onscreen exit later this year, but he’ll need some material in the meantime.
That could be where Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) comes in. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Allie will hit town again during the week of June 8-12. Since Allie’s pregnant, she’ll ultimately decide she’d like to find an adoptive home for her baby.
Of course, Allie may not even hear about Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis’ (Freddie Smith) mission to bring a baby into their family – at least not at first. Days fans know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) has a good relationship with Rafe, who’s her ex and was once quite close to her children.
It’s easy to imagine Allie finding out that Rafe’s lost David and asking him to adopt her own child to fill the void.
David obviously can’t just be replaced, but adopting a baby that he could keep might be appealing to Rafe. He’s wanted to be a father for quite some time, so Rafe might decide he’s all in.
DOOL’s summer preview video is edited together in a way show you can’t tell for sure, but it looks like Allie’s indeed asking Rafe to adopt her baby. They’re also shown hugging in that promo.
However, there could be some second thoughts about giving Rafe her child after Allie finds out Will and Sonny want to add a baby to their family. Although Sonny and Will haven’t decided whether there’ll go with adoption or surrogacy, Sami might push Allie to give her baby to her brother. That way Allie’s child can stay within the family and Grandma Sami can still be Grandma Sami.
This could cause a bit of a dilemma for Allie, who might have concerns about getting too attached to the kid if Will and Sonny raise him or her. That could be a concern of Sonny and Will’s, too. They already acknowledged that things can get a bit messy with adoption – just like what happened with Rafe.
Plus, Will suggested that maybe Sonny should be the father of their second child since Will already has Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower). He might fret about how Sonny would feel adding another Horton to their brood, even if that connection’s coming through Allie.
There’s also the matter of disappointing Rafe if Allie’s already promised him her son or daughter. Even so, this is a decision that Allie will have to come to on her own. Allie can certainly listen to all parties involved, including her mother. In the end though, it’s up to Allie. She has to decide whose home her baby ends up in.
