Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that the NBC soap is setting up another layer to a big mystery. DOOL fans know Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adam) paid a visit to Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) grave and seemingly told the truth.
No one else was around to hear Tripp insist that he never would’ve forced another woman to go through what Ciara went through after her own rape.
Tripp wasn’t putting on a show for anyone, so this seems to be the truth. It makes sense considering all the buzz and behind-the-scenes info that points to Tripp’s innocence.
On a soap, it’s suspicious when nearly everyone thinks a character is guilty. It’s usually a sign that person’s name will be cleared in the end, but that still leaves us with some important questions in this case.
After all, Allie was clearly raped and fully believes Tripp did it. It appears Allie’s just confused about how that night played out and doesn’t recall the man who actually assaulted her. Allie just remembers Tripp and has jumbled her memories a bit.
Notice how Days is strengthening the bond between Allie and Claire Brady (Isabel Durant)? That’s most likely because Claire’s new love interest will turn out to be Allie’s rapist. There’s no confirmation on that yet, but Charlie Dale (Mike C. Manning) came on the scene at exactly the right time.
Besides, if it’s not Tripp, it still has to be someone. It might as well be Charlie since no other suspects are in the picture. That brings us to the DNA test results, which will seemingly show Tripp is Henry Horton’s (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) father. How could that be possible if Tripp didn’t even sleep with Allie?
There are a couple different routes DOOL writers could take with this story. For starters, it’s possible Charlie secretly found out what was going on and changed the test results.
It’s not an unreasonable idea when you consider how the mystery surrounding Adrienne Kiriakis’ (Judi Evans) death played out. No one knew Orpheus (George DelHoyo) and Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) were involved until the very end.
However, there’s another option to consider here – especially now that Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) appears to be Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) secret partner at Titan. What if Charlie the intern is also Ava’s son? Could Charlie and Tripp be half-brothers?
Days has already set up a rivalry between Charlie and Tripp. That rivalry will only intensify if Tripp’s been accused of a horrible crime that Charlie actually committed. It’d also bring a huge twist to explain the DNA test results.
Brothers can have a lot of the same genetic markers, so that opens the door for some confusion – especially in the soap world. It wouldn’t be the first time there’s been a misunderstanding involving relatives and DNA.
Remember that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was nearly executed because of a DNA mistake at Jordan Ridgeway’s (Chrishell Stause) crime scene.
The cops thought the only DNA found belonged to Ben and David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends), but they were wrong. There was one other person involved – and Ciara proved it in time to save Ben.
In the end, Ciara figured out the DNA thought to be a perfect match for David was actually DNA that belonged to his father, Evan.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say this Tripp and Charlie could easily head in a similar direction. Maybe additional testing will prove Charlie is Henry’s true father down the road.
It’s an interesting possibility to ponder as this story heats up! We’ll pass along updates as other news rolls in.
