Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) time on Days will come to an end this fall. It looks like Alfonso’s last airdate will be in October – and sadly, Alfonso didn’t film an actual exit. Days of Our Lives assumed Alfonso would be reprising the role of Hope after the shutdown, but Alfonso opted not to return when the show resumes filming in September.
Of course, that leaves Hope’s story feeling a bit unfinished. Will Days really leave things dangling like that forever? It seems like even Alfonso herself would want more of an ending for Hope – perhaps a happy one. Since Days often brings former stars back for return stints, it’s possible they’ll work one out for Alfonso eventually.
Perhaps after all the pandemic chaos winds down someday, DOOL could write a real story to wrap up Hope’s run. Now that Alfonso’s done at Days, it’d be a good idea to reunite Hope with her true love, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell).
Reckell’s off the show… Alfonso’s off the show… It just seems like a no-brainer to give Bo and Hope a happily ever after. Should Days undo Bo’s death so that Hope can reunite with him and ride off into the sunset?
We want to be clear on the fact that this isn’t happening when Alfonso departs on screen this fall. Again, DOOL wasn’t counting on that, so they couldn’t write Hope a proper exit. However, they know now! Alfonso would likely be willing to return, even in a year or two – just to give “Bope” fans the happy ending they deserve.
Peter Reckell might be on board with that as well as long as it was only a handful of episodes. Reckell doesn’t seem interested in doing much more than that, but he does love his fans and might be willing to do something like this for them.
Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) recently insisted that supercouples always end up together no matter what. Since so many Salemites come back from the dead, there’s a chance Bo’s still alive. Bo died in Hope’s arms, but ANY death can be undone in the soap world! It’s just a matter of coming up with the right explanation.
Regardless, Hope deserves more than a “here today, gone tomorrow” kind of departure. Let’s hope Days can eventually lure both Reckell and Alfonso back to film a joint exit for Bo and Hope! We’ll provide updates as other DOOL news pops up.
