Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Brandon Barash has managed to win over fans in two popular roles. First, Barash took over as a Stefan DiMera recast and breathed new life into the character. It wasn’t long until DOOL viewers were rooting for Stefan despite his mistakes.
Barash did a great job of giving this sneaky DiMera a softer side. The Days star’s good looks and charm pulled fans right in, so it was crushing when Stefan was killed off.
Once Barash came back as Jake Lambert, he began playing someone who’s pretty much the total opposite of Stefan. Even so, Barash brought that same charm to the table and won fans over once again.
In fact, many Days of Our Lives viewers were relieved when Jake turned out to be Stefan’s twin brother. Although some Stefan and “Stabi” fans were certainly disappointed, just as many fans adore Jake and didn’t want to lose him.
Now that we know Jake is Jake, let’s consider how he measures up to his brother. Who’s the better man?
That probably depends on your qualifications, but Jake at least knows what a consensual encounter should look like. Days viewers will recall that Jake was horrified by what Stefan did to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller).
Jake was adamant that Abigail was mentally ill at the time, so it was NOT consensual. Stefan raped Abigail – and Jake was willing to acknowledge that.
Since Gwen (Emily O’Brien) was once too drunk to give her own consent, Jake pointed that out, too. He’s a guy who understands boundaries better than his twin did, so that’s nice to see. Although Jake is rough around the edges and can be a bit blunt, he’s definitely got a huge heart deep down.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Barash opened up about the differences between Stefan and Jake. When asked if Jake worries he’ll be like Stefan, Barash had an interesting take. Here’s what this DOOL actor had to say.
“There are sometimes when Jake’s best intentions don’t always pan out because he makes a mistake or misreads a situation or he’s desperate. But Jake wants to be a good guy,” Barash insisted. “That’s the biggest difference between him and Stefan.”
