Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some news to pass on about a popular DOOL star. Camila Banus, who portrays Gabi DiMera on the NBC soap, caused a stir recently when she posted something on social media that many fans took to be a message that she had left Days of Our Lives.
The Instagram post (which was also copied to Twitter) included some stills of Camila from an audition tape and said: “Self tape moments. Hey, film and television industry! I’m am actor available for work!! #hireme #actorforwork @sagaftra #sagaftra #auditionprocess #selftapes #90shairstyle”
Well, that caused an uproar among fans, and certainly seemed to be a statement conveying that Camila was out of work, meaning that she was no longer on Days of Our Lives. Fans flooded Camila with messages on Instagram and with replies to her Tweet lamenting that their beloved Gabi would no longer be on canvas and wishing the actress well.
But today, Camila posted another tweet that seemed to clear things up and indicate that she ISN’T leaving Days of Our Lives and Gabi will be staying on the show. This tweet reads: “I have been self taping auditions since 2005…ummm why is everyone having a cow?”
We think it was Camila’s original statement saying “I’m an actor available for work” that got everyone naturally assuming that she was out of work altogether. At any rate, Camila’s fans have been responding steadily to her new tweet expressing great happiness.
One fan replied: “We just love you and Gabi so much – that’s why some were worried and thought they were losing you on days but it’s all good now Camila.” Another fan said: “I think it has to do with the fact that people are just on edge right now and jump at every little thing. So they took your post to mean something that it didn’t.”
And another fan said the following: “I think people were worried about the IG live, you were crying a while ago about not being given what you are worth. You’re a fan favorite so people got worried that you might be leaving. It’s actually a compliment that people freaked out.”
Finally, someone commented: “I don’t know. But I hope #days entices you to always stay! #teamGabi Your energy and work are carrying the show in my opinion.”
