Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that two characters may be reminded of the past through Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) latest storyline. Allie recently opened up to Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) about getting drunk at a club in Kensington. Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) approached Allie once when she was sober and again once she was wasted.
After they danced together, Tripp asked Allie if she wanted him to take her home. Allie said yes and that led to them sleeping together, but she’ll be ready to call this rape by the end of the week.
It’s possible a couple more memory flashes will confirm for Allie that Tripp forced himself on her. Then again, Allie may just realize that as it stands, she was far too drunk to give her consent.
Regardless, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Allie will share her story with Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers), so it’s possible DOOL will tie in some history here. Back in 2016, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) returned from Miami and hid a mystery hookup from Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus).
JJ eventually came clean about cheating on Gabi, but he couldn’t remember who he slept with or even that it had happened until the next morning. “I went to the hotel, and I figured a few drinks wouldn’t hurt,” JJ told Gabi on November 14, 2016. “And that’s where my memory kind of cuts off. Things went hazy, and I don’t remember anything else.”
Later, Lani lashed out at JJ and wondered if he conveniently forgot that they slept together. JJ was stunned to learn Lani was the one in his hotel room that night, which put her at odds with Gabi. “I was drinking that night too, OK?” Lani protested on January 3, 2017. “But believe me, I didn’t go looking to hook-up. I saw my ex-partner suffering and one thing led to another.”
Once Allie shares her side of the story, it could lead to a crisis of conscience for Lani. In Lani’s case, she was actually the one who was hostile to JJ – who confessed that he blacked out and apologized for not remembering.
That was a terribly handled storyline, but it could come back into play if Lani does some reflecting after Allie’s account of what happened to her.
We know JJ’s returning to DOOL this fall, so that presents the possibility that Lani will bring that Miami night up to JJ and worry about her own actions. Of course, JJ didn’t blame Lani back then and it’s doubtful he would now.
Even so, Lani might battle guilt over the past if Tripp claims he was drinking and thought Allie was on board. Days may be trying to tackle the topic of consent and how important it is to make sure the other party’s indeed a willing participant.
Allie was clearly in no condition to willingly sleep with Tripp, so this was either rape or perhaps a case of mistaken identity if another man entered the picture that night. As other Days news rolls in, we’ll provide updates.
