Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) are both headed back to Salem. Philip will come first followed by Chloe later, but the point is they’ll both be in town eventually. That means it’s time to revisit a question that often comes up for longtime DOOL watchers – and it involves the paternity of Chloe’s son.
Parker Jonas (Christian Ganiere) seems like a good candidate for SORASing at this point – especially since Days is aging up Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). That could be a sign that Parker will ultimately be aged up as well.
Parker hasn’t been onscreen in recent years, so it’s not like it’d be all that jarring. Perhaps Parker would work well as a rebellious teen who’s struggling without a solid father figure.
That brings us to the paternity issue we mentioned. For years, many DOOL fans have been begging for a rewrite. It would honestly make sense under the circumstances.
Daniel Jones (Shawn Christian) is dead, so there’s no reason to keep Parker as his biological child. Parker would have so many more Salem ties if here were actually a Kiriakis.
To refresh your memory or fill you in in case you weren’t watching back then, Parker’s paternity caused plenty of confusion in Salem. Chloe got pregnant after a one-night stand with Philip, which led to a paternity test. The results confirmed Daniel as the father, but Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay) ultimately admitted she switched the results.
That meant Philip was actually the father – or so it seemed. Later, it was revealed that the results had already been switched when Caroline switched them. In other words, Caroline simply switched them back and made it right without knowing it.
Chloe had another test that confirmed Daniel as Parker’s bio dad, but there’s way too much room for doubt here. With all these tests and switches, it’d be so easy to say another deliberate switch was made. It might even be an honest mistake this time around.
Days of Our Lives could really solidify Chloe and Philip as a couple by giving them a son together. That’s particularly true if Philip can step up and be there for Philip in his teen years. Parker’s going to need someone to guide him – and it might as well be Philip.
