Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a lot of changes are coming to the show. As you probably know, several actors and actresses will be leaving canvas soon. This autumn, Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), and Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) are set to exit, as well as Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady). That right there is enough to change the DOOL landscape considerably.
But then very recently it was announced that two additional DOOL stars were exiting – Victoria Konefal (Ciara Weston) and Camila Banus (Gabi DiMera). Both Victoria and Camila are part of some popular pairings.
Of course, Victoria is one-half of “Cin” with Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston), and Camila was one-half of “Stabi” with Brandon Barash (Stefan DiMera) and is currently enjoying a similar chemistry with Brandon as Jake Lambert.
So far, no announcements have been made about exactly how Days of Our Lives is going to handle the two actresses’ departures. For example, will recasts occur, or will the characters simply leave Salem for parts unknown? Time will tell what happens, but one thing’s for sure – fans of the actresses aren’t happy about their departures.
Perhaps if there weren’t a mass exiting of characters and/or Victoria and Camila weren’t part of insanely popular pairings, their departures wouldn’t be so jarring, but their absences will be strongly felt by fans.
In fact, after the news broke about Victoria’s departure from DOOL, scores of fans lamented on Twitter, tagging Victoria in the process.
For example, one person tweeted: “You can’t leave Days of Our Lives. You are the reason I watch the show. Plus, you and Ben are amazing. I don’t see them casting another person who can play Ciara as well as you.”
And someone else commented: “I absolutely love you on Days. I HATE to see you go. One of my favorite story lines are you and Ben! Wherever you go I’ll definitely follow! You have a fan in me!”
Finally, someone said: “This news makes me so sad. I’m going to be really sad to see you go. I always look forward to your scenes with @MrRobertScott and Days won’t be the same without you!”
And with respect to Camila’s exit fans responded with disbelief, and with the hope that she will soon return to the show. “She has literally carried the show on her back for at least 3 years,” one person wrote. “The show should have promised her the sun, moon, and stars to keep her. So hopefully, this isn’t forever & she can do her primetime thing and then come back here & there.”
Others comments more matter-of-factly and just got to the point. “That sucks,” someone said. “I just love her.” And someone else said: “This is sad. Camila is a star. Hope she stays and hope Victoria returns, too.”
We’ll see what ends up happening on the show, but if recasts are made, then we could be looking at a situation where two leading ladies suddenly change personas, which could be quite a shock for viewers.
We should note, too, that there’s another recast coming, as Olivia Rose Keegan (Claire Brady) is being recast by Isabel Durant in the coming weeks.
At any rate, fans are reacting to all these DOOL changes, and no matter what happens with the characters – whether they’re recast or sent off somewhere – there’s no denying that big changes are coming.
