Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) will consider her future during a chat with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). On August 10, Claire will mull over what’s next since she’s accomplished her goal. DOOL fans know all Claire wanted to do was make amends with Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), but what happens now that she’s pulled that off?
Things may never truly be the same between Claire and Ciara, but they’re on better terms now that Ciara believes Claire’s side of the story. Claire also pitched in with the mission to find Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), so she’s worked hard and proved herself.
We can’t help but notice this would’ve been the perfect way to wrap up Claire’s arc. Claire could’ve simply left town since she’s not really needed in Salem anymore. Instead, DOOL chose to recast – and Isabel Durant will take over the role soon enough.
Why did Days ditch this easy exit opportunity? The fact that they were willing to recast Claire says a lot about how important their plans are. Claire obviously has another big storyline coming up – and there’s a good chance it involves love.
We should also consider the fact that Days chose to age the actress up a bit. Isabel Durant is 28, so she seems like a great fit to be paired with 32-year-old Robert Scott Wilson. Is that something Days had in mind during the casting process? It’s certainly a possibility to keep in mind.
Victoria Konefal is set to exit the role of Ciara in the months ahead. With Ciara out of the picture and a new Claire on canvas, Days of Our Lives could be gearing up for a Ben and Claire romance. “Blaire” could become the next pairing DOOL has in store, especially when you look at Days history.
Claire and Ciara always swap men back and forth anyway, so no one would be surprised if Claire swooped in and snatched Ben up for herself. Ben will probably be single when Ciara departs, but Ciara would still consider this a betrayal – perhaps from both of them. If Ben pushes Ciara away and is still willing to hop in bed with Claire, Ciara would certainly be hurt if she knew.
However, it’s also easy to imagine Ben and Claire connecting over their deadly mistakes. Claire attempted to kill Ciara after a mental break. Ben was also mentally ill when he committed actual murders – and he could very well attempt Ciara’s murder before she leaves. Guilt and pain over the past might be a way to bring Claire and Ben together.
Perhaps Claire could even promise to look after Ben once Ciara’s gone. Claire might assure Ciara that she’ll visit Ben and see how he’s holding up – especially if Ben winds up in Bayview again. Of course, Ciara wouldn’t expect Claire to fall hard and steal Ben away!
Based on the Claire recast’s new look and the fact that she’s sticking around, this is definitely an option Days could go with. There aren’t a ton of other good love interests for Ben in Salem, so Ben and Claire might become a couple down the road. As other Days news and updates emerge, we’ll deliver all the hottest info.
