Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Tripp Dalton’s (Lucas Adams) return will bring some surprises. Now that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) are back together, Tripp will decide it’d be nice to visit them.
Although Tripp will be mistaken for an intruder at first, Kayla and Steve will eventually settle down to welcome him home.
As a reminder, Tripp is Steve’s son with deceased Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). His half-brother, Joey Johnson (James Lastovic), went to prison for killing Ava – though Tripp once held Kayla at knifepoint when he thought she did it. Fortunately, this messed-up family found a way to come together.
Now Tripp has a good relationship with both Steve and Kayla – at least he did the last time we saw him. Thankfully, it sounds like everything’s still good between Tripp and “Stayla.”
What about Tripp and Claire Brady (Isabel Durant)? DOOL fans will see where things stand between Claire and Tripp when they cross paths during the week of September 7-11.
Claire’s violent, firebug past may still be an issue, but Tripp’s made his fair share of mistakes – like that knifepoint incident we mentioned. Tripp also played games with Claire’s heart depending on how you want to look at it. The point is they’ve both screwed up and may be able to let bygones be bygones.
Of course, Days hasn’t revealed the person who framed Claire for marking up the wedding dress and stealing the engagement ring. Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) was possibly given something to make her sick before the wedding, although that was never confirmed.
Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) couldn’t say for sure if Ciara was drugged, so she may have just been genuinely ill.
The dress and ring incidents were definitely intentional though, which means we still need a culprit. Tripp would be a logical candidate if he’s got old grudges. If Claire finds out Tripp set her up, it could give her a reason to plot against Tripp, too.
Whatever the case, there’s a reason Claire and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) connected before Allie skipped town. DOOL was setting up the next Tripp chapter to come.
Once Allie comes back on the scene, Tripp will almost certainly suspect he’s the father of her baby. There are new Days of Our Lives spoilers about Tripp running into someone he met while he was away, so that must be Allie.
Let’s consider two ways for Days writers to take this – both of which involve Claire scheming again. One option is that Tripp framed Claire, so she’ll tamper with the inevitable paternity test results because of it.
Claire might justify it by telling herself this baby doesn’t need a father like Tripp. She might even convince Allie this is what’s best.
However, another option is that Claire will actually find a way forward with Tripp – whether he framed her or not. Since Claire had a huge thing for Tripp before, she may fall in love all over again.
Claire might change the paternity test results to cut this tie between Tripp and Allie. It could be a way for Claire to keep Tripp for herself.
Regardless, paternity test tampering would be right up Claire’s alley. No one wants Saint Claire! We don’t need Claire burning all of Salem down, but we don’t need her playing Uno with her grandparents all the time either.
There has to be a happy medium, so making Claire your typical soap schemer seems like the right idea.
