Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) will find himself in an impossible position. Eli doesn’t want to go behind Lani Price-Grant’s (Sal Stowers) back again and cause more marriage drama, but he’ll soon feel he has no choice.
That’s because Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) will deliver an ultimatum that could land Eli’s pregnant wife behind bars!
Melinda’s terms will be simple: get her proof of Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) guilt or else Lani will be prosecuted for helping Kristen escape from custody a few months back.
Of course, Eli’s going to balk and insist he can’t do this, but Melinda will argue that he must. She’ll assure Eli that throwing Kristen under the bus is the right call since it’ll protect Lani and keep his family together.
After much deliberation, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Eli will reluctantly get on board. From there, Eli will just have to figure out how to get the proof Melinda’s demanding. Melinda will think a recorded confession would be best, so that’s the strategy Eli will go with.
As DOOL fans can imagine, Days spoilers say Eli will dread this every step of the way. Kristen is Lani’s best friend and little Rachel Black’s mother. Eli will know that if he succeeds, Lani will be furious with him and Rachel will lose her mom.
However, the alternative would be far worse – at least from Eli’s perspective. Eli will hate the thought of Lani winding up in jail more than he hates the idea of Lani unleashing her fury.
With that in mind, Eli will pay a visit to Kristen’s hotel room and offer up some bait. Kristen won’t realize that Eli’s recording the conversation so he can hand it over as evidence to Melinda.
Once Eli arrives, he’ll get Kristen talking about the case and how much Lani’s put on the line for her. Eli will rant about how Lani’s expecting twins, so she may have to give birth in prison if this all heads south.
Eli will add that Lani might not be able to raise her own children because she did Kristen a favor. It looks like Eli will do it all under the guise of asking Kristen to protect Lani.
Since Kristen won’t know this is a setup, she’ll admit Lani really went out on a limb for her. Kristen will probably talk about how much rage she felt when she stabbed Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston).
She was a mess in the aftermath, so she was glad when Lani stepped up to help her flee the country. Kristen may assure Eli that she’d never betray Lani and promise she won’t blab to Melinda.
By the time this conversation winds down, Eli should have Kristen on tape admitting to attempted murder and escaping police custody. At that point, Eli will just have to decide if he’ll go through with handing it over to DA Trask! As other Days news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you in the loop.
