Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Eric Lands in Prison for Deimos’ Murder, Takes Fall for Nicole – Sets Up Greg Vaughan’s Exit?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that as Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) exit looms, we should start thinking about the circumstances surrounding it. As of right now, Eric’s in the middle of a custody battle storyline involving Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby.

Since Eric’s exit is coming up within the next couple months, it may be tied to the aftermath of this baby war.

Of course, we don’t want to rule out the possibility that Eric will get a departure that’s out of the blue – just like Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) warning Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) of danger or Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) suddenly getting a job in Phoenix.

Eric might get something just as random hurled at him, so that’s important to keep in mind.

However, things are a little different in Eric’s case. Although Rafe’s decided to reunite with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), it’s not like they’re in a deep committed relationship again – not like the new marriage Eric and Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) have.

Sonny’s leaving with Will Horton (Chandler Massey), so they don’t have to worry about being torn apart at all.

Since the door’s been left open for Vaughan’s return, there are no plans for an Eric recast right now. That means no matter how Eric exits, it’s not going to end well for “Ericole.”

It’s possible that Vaughan could do some popups eventually and try to keep the relationship going, but it makes more sense to break Eric and Nicole up. They at least need a solid reason to separate.

At the upcoming custody hearing, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) will put Eric in a real bind. Eric will be forced to cover for Nicole when Sami calls her out for killing Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry). It’s tough to imagine Eric landing in legal hot water over his deception considering Nicole’s the actual killer!

Sami also doesn’t have proof of this “murder,” which wasn’t really a murder since Nicole was on Halo. Deimos was responsible for giving that drug to Nicole and all the other partygoers that night, so he’s responsible for own demise. Days just always portrays it as some horrible offense that Nicole could never get off the hook for.

Still, it’s possible Sami’s custody bombshell will have unintended consequences. Could it lead to evidence surfacing somehow? Will there be some scenario where Eric has to take the fall for Nicole and head back to prison?

It just seems strange for Days of Our Lives to suddenly make Nicole killing Deimos an issue again. It could become a convenient way to hustle Eric off canvas and back into a prison cell. Eric would certainly do whatever he had to do to keep Nicole and Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander) together.

Naturally, this would be a great way to intensify the feud between Nicole and Sami, who’ll be around for a big storyline in 2021. Days of Our Lives spoilers say there’ll inevitably be more conflict, so what if Sami’s the reason her own brother lands back in the slammer?

There’s no guarantee DOOL writers will take that route, but it’s an exciting option to consider.
