Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, July 10, reveal that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) spoke with Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) via phone at the DiMera mansion. Chad promised Abigail that he’d be on the next flight to Florida. Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) came in to serve Chad breakfast, and when she uncovered the plate, it had Jake Lambert’s (Brandon Barash) DNA test results on it. Gabi gleefully shared that Jake was actually Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
Gabi then asked Chad to go to Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) and get the serum for her, but Chad said that she was being totally audacious. Chad refused to help, and Gabi promised that once Stefan was back, they’d grind him to dust.
Gabi left, and Chad crumpled up the DNA results. Soon, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) came in and learned that Stefan was alive. They didn’t think that Chad should go to Florida right now, and Jennifer agreed to go in his place.
At Jake’s apartment, he woke up next to Gwen (Emily O’Brien). Gwen was all happy, and after making love, she started talking about moving in, but Jake put the kibosh on that. Gwen was peeved and assumed this was about Gabi.
Gwen complained about being used, but Jake said he hadn’t used her. Soon Gabi came to the door, and Gwen answered wearing Jake’s shirt. Gabi was appalled and lashed out at Jake, wondering how he could sleep with someone else.
Eventually, Jake told Gwen to leave, and she was really upset, throwing on her clothes and leaving in a huff. Jake explained to Gabi that he had wanted to forget about everything for just one night.
Gabi fumed, then told Jake that she was working on getting the serum for him, and that she didn’t want him to sleep with anyone until she got it. Jake agreed, and they shook on it.
In town square, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) encountered Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) who got pushy when “Cin” revealed that they were going engagement ring shopping.
Claire wanted to go with Ben to pick out a ring so that Ciara would be surprised, but Ben balked. Eventually, Ciara convinced Ben to go with Claire, and Claire was totally excited.
At Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) apartment, Lani had a terrible nightmare that Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) came to the door and shot her. Lani woke up with a start, and Eli comforted here. After making love and enjoying their morning together, Lani and Eli decided to head in to work, since Vivian’s arraignment was today.
At the Salem PD, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) came into the interrogation room, much to Vivian’s disdain. Kate taunted Vivian with a plastic squirt gun that Vivian at first thought was real.
After being squirted with the gun, Vivian talked with Kate, and the two reached an agreement. Vivian shared that Stefan was alive, and that she needed Kate to go talk to Rolf and get the serum. Kate balked, but Vivian said she wouldn’t tell anyone that Kate shot her in cold blood if Kate got the serum. Kate agreed.
Lani and Eli then came in the room wondering what was going on. Lani chastised Kate for using her mayor’s office credentials to get in the interrogation room, and Kate promptly left, telling Vivian that she had a doctor to go see.
Vivian smirked happily, then told Lani that she had nothing to fear anymore, because Stefan was alive. Lani and Eli were shocked. “I’m so sorry about that mess at the wedding,” Vivian said apologetically.
At Julie’s place, Gwen sat drinking when Chad came in. Chad sat down next to Gwen and noticed that she was on her third Bloody Mary. “Bad day?” Chad asked. “You could say that,” Gwen said, noting that things were going well until Gabi DiMera happened.
Chad perked up and said that he’d get the next round so Gwen could fill him in. Gwen looked a little drunk and took a big, noisy bite of celery.
Finally, at the park, Claire gushed to Ben about the great ring they found as he held the ring box in his hands. Ben thanked Claire for being such a great negotiator, and Claire promptly left.
Ciara arrived, and Ben greeted her happily, then got down on one knee and said, “Ciara Alice Brady, I am the luckiest man on earth to be marrying you, and I want you to have this ring as a symbol of my everlasting love.” Ben opened the box, but Ciara looked strange, and Ben looked at the box, noticing that there was no ring there.
