Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that another key player has returned to set. We recently brought you the news that Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez DiMera) was back at the Days studio, but now we’ve got updates regarding her TV brother.
Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) has confirmed that he’s back on set as well, so that’s certainly exciting for Rafe fans.
In Instagram, Gering posted a picture of himself with a red phone and joked about all the safety precautions post-shutdown. “This is how we rehearse now,” Gering teased. “We talk on the in house phone. Hello? Yea it’s me Rafe. Hello…??? Huh.”
Of course, Gering was just kidding and truly appreciates all the effort that’s going into keeping the cast and crew safe. The Days actor included another pic of someone on the hair and makeup team all decked out in protective gear, so DOOL’s doing everything right.
“And this is how we get our hair and makeup done. Safety first people!” Gering said. “Also we test every day. It’s a seriously impressive operation ova here at @nbcdays Daytime ain’t playtime! Anyway it sure beats the alternative. @hairandmakeupfordays”
It’s nice to see Gering back in action – and the timing makes sense considering Banus just returned to set as well. Rafe and Gabi had a joint Days of Our Lives exit, so they should be getting a joint return, too. There was plenty of danger swirling around the Hernandez siblings when they left, so let’s talk about that.
DOOL fans will recall that Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) suddenly showed up in Salem and insisted they all had to leave immediately. Eduardo went into business with the wrong people, so his family members became deadly targets after a deal headed south.
That threat will have to be eliminated one way or another, but Rafe and Gabi can come back to town once that happens. Sadly, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) will be long gone once Rafe finally makes it home. It should break Rafe’s heart when he realizes Hope left Salem behind.
Hope’s absence might be explained through a lengthier, faraway search for Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal). Regardless, Rafe will be on his own once he returns, but he’ll be able to reestablish some friendships and rejoin the Salem PD.
Although Rafe won’t move on from Hope right away, perhaps his heart will heal and find love again in 2021. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for poor Rafe!
