Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a popular DOOL star. Gilles Marini, who portrayed Ted Laurent on the NBC soap, recently shared with his social media followers that a member of his family has passed away due to COVID-19.
Gilles posted the following message on Twitter: “My aunt passed away this morning of the corona virus. RIP Tata. Stay safe my friends. This is hard for everyone.”
Gilles’ followers have been steadily sending in their condolences and kind words in response to his message about his aunt. One follower stated: “I’m so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you and your family through these hard times.” And another person replied: “Sorry for your loss – sending you a hug.”
Someone even shared her own story of COVID-19 loss. This follower wrote: “We lost my husband’s father too today – dreadful time – he was alone – his son lived with had gone home for a rest.”
If you follow Gilles on social media, then you probably know that he has been posting quite a bit as he’s been staying at home during the quarantine. In fact, Gilles recently posted a sweet message on Instagram encouraging his followers to become foster parents for homeless animals during this time.
And recently, Gilles posted a lengthy narrative on his Instagram feed, in which he reflected about the COVID-19 situation. One day before announcing his aunt’s passing, Gilles wrote: “As I’m reflecting…As the world stopped fragilely spinning in our terms, everyone is realizing. Society created since the 50’s this false sense of happiness for profit. Owning things, bigger is better, look at my cars, my big houses, my possessions and on and on.”
Gilles continued a bit later in his post: “It is in these dire times that we truly can comprehend what is IMPORTANT. Health, love, contentment. Those are crucial. We are all poor and we are all rich. We are all human.”
Gilles also noted: “Let me be clear. COVID-19 is here to remind us that we are nothing, fragile, and full of ourselves. How about a new world, a new guideline. A new way of doing things. Accepting others like we were accepted at one point in our life…We are all gonna die one way or the other.”
Gilles concluded: “So, it’s how you will wanna be remembered, that will matter through ages and for our planet. Be good, be human. We are all miracles, so be one. I love you all.”
