Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that the NBC soap will eventually face a problem when it comes to Charlie Dale (Mike Manning). It’s obvious Charlie is the guy who assaulted Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) in London, so that puts a black mark on his record.
It’s not unheard of for a rapist to get redemption on soaps, but it does create an uphill battle when it comes to making people like the character again. Everything Allie has mistakenly believed about Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) applies to Charlie.
It’s disgusting to think about Charlie holding Allie down and forcing himself on her, so this will be a tough hurdle for Days to get past.
The easiest solution might be to have Charlie lean into his darker persona. Now that DOOL writers are introducing Charlie’s secrets, Days of Our Lives spoilers say those secrets are bound to blow up sooner or later.
Could a kindred spirit walk into Charlie’s life when he least expects it – perhaps another character with a dark side and a lot to hide?
Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is making a mess of Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) life and plotting against her family. It looks like Gwen is Abigail’s half-sister, so she might relate to Charlie’s experience as a long-lost brother of golden boy Tripp.
Since Gwen is jealous of Abigail, she might find some common ground with Charlie.
Of course, this could be a setup for new blooming love down the road. Claire will surely dump Charlie over his decision to assault her cousin – and Allie won’t want anything to do with Charlie either.
Since Charlie won’t be dating Claire or Allie after his London shockers are exposed, what does that mean for the character?
Charlie might face a grim fate or end up written off the show another way – like being sent to prison or leaving town. However, we should at least consider the possibility that Charlie will stick around after the assault mess erupts.
Since Gwen clearly doesn’t have a long-term future with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) or anyone else on canvas right now, she could also be poised to get a new love interest.
Charlie and Gwen might work due to their long-lost relative connections as well as their shady behavior. Gwen may not judge Charlie for his mistakes as long as he doesn’t judge Gwen for her own.
Do you think Charlie and Gwen might become a new couple at some point? It’s safe to say that’d end Gwen and Claire’s friendship, but that’s just one more reason to go for Gwen and Charlie. The more drama, the better! We’ll provide updates as other Days news becomes available.
