Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) exit is coming up this October, but it should be a bit of a letdown for fans. Neither Alfonso nor the show knew it’d be her last episode when she filmed it. Hope deserves a fantastic sendoff, but it didn’t work out since Alfonso chose to leave the show during the shutdown.
Alfonso was asked to take several months off from Days of Our Lives, but she decided it was time for a true farewell instead. This DOOL star won’t be reporting for work this September, which means some changes are coming for Hope. Let’s talk about those changes and try to figure out what kind of exit Days will write.
Alfonso still had scenes left to shoot, so those will have to be tossed out or adjusted. Whatever story Hope’s in the middle of will come to an abrupt end, but other characters might slide in her spot. If it’s just a matter of explaining something or relaying information, other Salemites could get the job done.
As for Hope, she obviously won’t have a chance to tell any of her loved ones goodbye. That’s a shame since many Days viewers would’ve liked some heartfelt scenes with Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). However, Julie might mention that Hope said goodbye to them off screen.
In fact, Julie is perhaps the one most likely to spill exactly where Hope went and why. She always seems to be in the know on the latest happenings in Salem anyway, and Hope would surely fill Julie in before leaving.
How will Days explain Hope’s departure? That depends on what happens between now and then – both to Hope as well as those closest to her. Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) is set to exit DOOL before her mother, so it’s possible Hope will reunite with Ciara elsewhere. It’d be nice to think of them having some mother-daughter time off canvas.
Then again, it’s possible Ciara would rather be alone doing her own thing. Depending on how Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) exits, maybe Hope could meet up with him instead.
Days is clearly reestablishing Hope and Rafe’s feelings for each other, so Julie might mention that Hope followed her heart and left town to be with Rafe.
Of course, Days could also send Hope to Hong Kong for a while once Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and Belle Black (Martha Madison) are back there. The show could even come up with some mystery for Hope to tackle on her own.
If there’s a missing person to find or some case to crack, Hope might head off on an intriguing mission.
Hope could go missing herself if Days wants a way to explain why she’s not back for holidays and important family events. Alfonso considers this a permanent farewell, although we’ll hold out hope that she’ll have a change of heart.
It’d at least be fun to have Hope back for weddings and crucial gatherings, but Alfonso doesn’t plan on any return stints at the moment.
Bottom line, Days of Our Lives spoilers say the show will have to get creative with Hope’s exit. We’ll offer updates as other news rolls in.
