Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that it’s time to take a closer look at Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien) and her motives. Let’s consider what we know about Gwen so far. Gwen alluded to a mission – and that mission clearly involves making Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) her target.
For a while, it looked like Gwen and Vincent Belman (Michael Teh) might be linked – and that could still turn out to be true down the road. However, there’s also a chance some story changes happened due to Victoria Konefal’s exit as Ciara Brady Weston.
Days writers might’ve decided to shift gears and head in another direction based on the characters they still had on canvas.
Then again, maybe this has been the plan all along. The point is Gwen seems fiercely determined to take down Abigail – and there has to be a good reason why. For Gwen, it seems personal.
Gwen doesn’t feel like someone who’s merely hired help. There seems to be some sort of vendetta or resentment going on, but what did Abigail ever do to Gwen? Abby doesn’t even know Gwen!
That may be true, but Gwen seems to know Abigail – or at least she knew of Abby when she came to town specifically to target her. We can’t forget that Gwen traveled from Philly to Salem and carried out the initial drugging plot.
Now that Abigail’s back from her treatment facility, Gwen’s plotting against Abby once again.
Why does Gwen seemingly want revenge? Could Gwen have a connection to Abigail that even Abby doesn’t realize? Most new characters turn out to be related to someone on canvas, so that’s important to keep in mind.
Xander Cook was revealed as Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) and is now an established member of the Kiriakis family. Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) turned out to be Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) daughter.
Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) came on the scene as Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) long-lost son.
Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) showed up to make a splash as the son of Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) and Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) became yet another son of Vivian and Stefano through his twin status. Do you see the pattern here?
Sooner or later, most new characters end up having some family connection in Salem – and that means Gwen may have one, too. Is the way Gwen’s going after Abigail a hint? Let’s throw in a few more DOOL clues and try to put it all together.
We know Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) have a big story coming up – so big, in fact, that Cady McClain is already filming as a Jennifer recast.
Jennifer honestly isn’t that important on any given day. Her scenes typically consist of supporting whatever character happens to be in crisis during that episode.
Since Days of Our Lives feels Jennifer’s crucial enough to recast right now, that tells us this story is indeed huge. Could Gwen be Jack’s long-lost daughter? Does Gwen resent Abigail as the golden girl sister who got everything, including their father’s love?
It’s an option to consider, especially since Jack’s spent a lot of time off canvas over the years. Jack may not even know he fathered another child.
Revealing Gwen as Jack’s daughter and Abigail’s half-sister would give the show some intriguing places to go. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out! As other Days news comes in, we’ll provide updates.
