Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that fans are wondering what the future holds with so many casting shakeups going on. DOOL’s losing several key players on canvas, so that’ll leave some holes and airtime to fill.
Fortunately, there are some underutilized characters who will have a chance to shine. Let’s focus on two of them: Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves).
Some Days viewers have grumbled about not seeing enough of Jack and Jennifer lately. Jenn decided to spend some time supporting Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) in Florida, so she’s been off screen for a bit.
Jack hasn’t had much to do either other than dish out advice to Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).
When will Jennifer and Jack get a story of their own? Soon – at least according to Days of Our Lives Head Writer Ron Carlivati. On Twitter, one fan sent Carlivati a tweet and expressed hope for a Jack and Jenn storyline, so Carlivati made her a promise. He teased, “A big Jack and Jennifer story is coming your way this fall… #days”
Will Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) looming return set up some juicy drama? Carlivati made it sound like it’d specifically be Jennifer and Jack’s story, but it’s doubtful it’ll just focus on the two of them.
Days loves to pull lots of other characters in the mix, so there’ll at least be other people offering guidance – just like Jack and Jenn tend to do!
It’s great that Abigail’s coming back on canvas since Jennifer and Jack need at least one of their children around. After JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) was written out and Kate Mansi’s Abigail followed, it left Jack and Jennifer feeling isolated. They still have their grandkids, but that’s not quite the same.
Thankfully, Miller’s Abigail will be back on the show soon enough. Even if Abigail doesn’t play a role in this big fall story, Jack and Jennifer can get caught up in Abby’s story in the meantime. Some marriage woes seem to be brewing for Abigail and Chad, so stay tuned to watch them handle the rocky road ahead.
