Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that an exciting party is coming up, which offers two great reasons to celebrate. Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is in charge of planning this bash, which will commemorate Jennifer Deveraux’s (Cady McClain) wedding anniversary to Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) as well as the anniversary of Jenn waking up from her coma.
Of course, there’ll be a third reason to celebrate for Gwen since she’s got a nefarious plan and wants this party to blow up. Days fans know Gwen is mainly targeting Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), but she really has a grudge against the whole Deveraux clan.
DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati opened up about that in a recent issue of SOD. “Clearly, it seems to be somewhat fixated on Abigail but it’s her entire family,” Carlivati said about Gwen’s grudge. He added Gwen has been watching the Deveraux fam for quite some time.
Carlivati also pointed out that the goal was to create curiosity about the past without Gwen’s current mission getting overshadowed. “There’s a lot coming up between now and all the way through the end of this year that will build more to the reveal of why,” Carlivati insisted.
Gwen’s anniversary bash is probably set for November 8 since that’ll mark Days of Our Lives’ anniversary as well. Carlivati’s promise tells us we shouldn’t expect the big reveal of why at that gathering. It makes sense considering Gwen’s playing the long game and has more destruction in mind before she spills all.
Remember that Gwen wants to completely destroy Abigail’s life before she shares who she is and why she did this. That hasn’t happened yet, so a New Year’s Eve party reveal might be more likely. It would line up with Carlivati’s comment about what would happen through the end of this year.
Regardless, there has to be some chaos in the meantime – and Carlivati confirmed this about all Deveraux family members, not just Abigail.
It seems likely Gwen is Jack’s biological daughter – one that he doesn’t know about from his time out of Salem. With that in mind, we have to acknowledge that Gwen has another sibling to be jealous of. What about JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss)?
It’s strange that Gwen hasn’t been focused on JJ at all, but it had to be that way since JJ’s off canvas. Fortunately, that won’t be the case for much longer. DOOL’s fall promo featured JJ – and SOD backed up that return info by highlighting it in their comings and goings section.
Will JJ show up at this anniversary bash and become part of the November sweeps drama? It seems likely that Gwen will make sure her secret half-brother is there.
