Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some news to pass on about a popular DOOL star. John Aniston, who has portrayed Victor Kiriakis on the NBC since 1985, is also the father of TV and film star Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer is of course well-known for the TV series Friends, as well as various major motion pictures and TV series.
But Jennifer and John haven’t always had a great relationship. It’s well-known that John left Jennifer’s mother, Nancy Dow Aniston, back in 1979 when Jennifer was 10 years old, and things were rocky between father and daughter for a while.
Jennifer has talked extensively about the trauma that her father leaving caused her. Jennifer has said: “I went to a birthday party, and when I came back, my mother said, ‘Your father’s not going to be around here for a little while.’”
Jennifer continued: “She didn’t say he was gone forever. I don’t know if I blocked it, but I just remember sitting there, crying, not understanding that he was gone. I don’t know what I did later that night or the next day. I don’t remember anything other than it being odd that all of a sudden my father wasn’t there. And he was gone for a while, about a year.”
After that, Jennifer has said that her father got back in touch eventually, and that they started spending time together on the weekends. And Jennifer has said that John has apologized to her and explained why he did what he did. “We’ve made up,” Jennifer said. There’s still parts that are hard for me, but I’m an adult. I can’t blame my parents anymore.”
The Daily Mail has reported that a source close to John told the outlet that “Jen forgave her father for walking out a long time ago. But their relationship has had its ups and downs.” However, it seems that since the COVID-19 crisis has gripped the nation, Jennifer has been in touch with her father regularly.
“Jennifer didn’t speak to him for ages,” the source told The Daily Mail. “But since the coronavirus crisis, she has been on the phone almost every day. And not just brief conversations. It’s like she has realized life is very short and she wants her relationship with John to be the best it can be. He’s thrilled that they have reconciled.”
So, while John and Jennifer can’t see each other due to the COVID-19 situation right now, it does sound like they’re talking frequently, and that’s great. The source told The Daily Mail that “they obviously can’t see each other but they have spoken more in the past few weeks than they ever have.”
We wish both John and Jennifer the best as they navigate their relationship in this period of quarantine. Stick with the NBC soap and remember that CDL is your place for all the hot Days of Our Lives news and spoilers.
