Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that a new face is headed to Salem – and he’s sure to stir up some trouble! On Instagram, Mike Manning confirmed that he’s joined the cast of DOOL in the role of Charlie.
Manning will make his debut first airdate during the week of October 5-9, so watch out for Charlie’s first appearance as a new Titan intern. Charlie’s first scenes will be with Claire Brady (Isabel Durant).
Manning seems excited about being the show’s latest cast addition and hopes Days fans enjoy what’s in store. “I guess the [cat emojii] is outta the [bag emoji],” Manning said in his post. “‘Charlie’ will be on DAYS OF OUR LIVES starting next week. I hope you like him. Hold on tight. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.”
Due to the timing of Charlie’s debut and some other clues, there’s been speculation that Charlie might be the true father of Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby. However, Manning certainly doesn’t appear to have any inkling of that since he hopes viewers will like him.
That just doesn’t seem like what you’d say if you knew going into it your character was going to be a rapist.
Of course, it’s possible that’s a revelation that’ll come down the line. Days of Our Lives often keeps secrets from their actors – and even Lindsay Arnold admitted she didn’t know for sure who the father was on a Dishin’ Days interview in August. With that in mind, it might be something Manning’s not in the loop on either.
However, Manning’s post makes Charlie sound more like a standard troublemaker than someone ruthless or truly shady. Charlie may be a bit of a bad boy – just bad enough to handle Claire the former firebug! Perhaps Days of Our Lives is setting Claire and Charlie up as a new romantic duo.
Naturally, Charlie may have a secret or two – like a relative on canvas or something along those lines. An audition on Vimeo recently surfaced for a character named “Oliver,” who was friends with Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and pretty good with computers.
It’s easy to imagine “Oliver” turning out to be Charlie since Will’s husband is a Kiriakis and computer skills would be needed as Titan intern. “Oliver” definitely had a mischievous side in that audition and clashed with Claire, so that could be the start of Charlie’s “bumpy ride” if these characters are the same.
As for Manning, you might’ve seen him in movies like Cloud 9 and God’s Not Dead: A Light in the Darkness – or perhaps in shows like The Have and the Have Nots, Teen Wolf, Major Crimes, Hawaii Five-0, The Bay and more.
It’s fun to meet a new character and see what he’s all about, so fans will look forward to Charlie’s big debut! As other DOOL news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
